Razz, it's in the shop getting port matched to the head.

I got my new header in. It's a cheapy from ebay for B series, but i'm pretty surprised at the quality. It's stainless, and the welds all look decent. The header flange is mild steel, but i'll be cutting that off to weld on a DOHC ZC flange i had plasma cut out of stainless to match the rest of the header. You can see in the pics there's no way you could modify a B header to suit D series without seriously munting it. The holes are nowhere near close and the B series pipes are ever so slightly closer together in the middle while the D series ports are evenly spaced.

Went to the wrecker the other day to get a horn for my daily (it blew the factory horn, wtf)

Anyway while i was there i picked up some boot trims because i must've thrown my old ones out. I think it finishes it off nicely.

Not a lot has been happening, it's all kind of slow i guess. A couple of updates though.

I cut the flange off that header, here's some pics:

Braced it down to the mill bed and ran a cutting disc in the chuck for a flat cut.

You can kinda see the port spacing difference between the pipes (the two inner pipes are too close together) and the new flange... But they can be pulled into spec with some clamps before getting welded.

Also made a bracket for the water pump for my water to air aftercooler. and my heat exchanger. I'll be grabbing some fittings and some hose this arvo hopefully to finish plumbing it up. Also i'm in two minds whether i want to redo my engine harness just yet, or get it running first. I have to wire up the water pump so i'm not sure if i CBF just do it all now or not...

Picked up some hose and plumbed up the heat exchanger to the water pump, but left the engine bay stuff for now until i get everything back in work out where i want to route the hose.

Originally wanted to go with clear hose, but i couldn't find anything temperature rated and coolant resistant, and turns out hose that is temp and coolant resistant is fking expensive from local suppliers. Ranging from 22-58 $/meter and i needed 4 meters.

Just the one pic, this is where i'll route the cold side into the engine bay:

Also bought a relay for the water pump which delays power until X seconds after the starter receives a signal. That way it wont be running while the motor cranks over.

Na it's not necessary, I was running it supercharged before all this and it ran fine.

I was just concerned about my intake temps which were getting quite high when I was at the drags, so cooling the air would make a more reliable and less stressed and more powerful motor.

There's other ways to achieve lower IAT's but this is the most effective.

Thanks mate! Had a great birthday. It's on a public holiday every year which is a +, so i went away for the long weekend.

I haven't got my header back yet, but i colour matched the side skirts and front lip, for some reason i think it just looks much better.

All I can say is WOW! Your car always looks stunning. Where's that front lip from? The wheel and tyre specs? I have no time to read everything you've written here to find the answers Very Happy. Your attention to detail is admirable.

Thanks Smile

The lip is just a fiberglass eBay one. I think it's a J's replica. The wheels are 16x7+32 on the front and 16x8+32 on the rear 205/50r16's.

The tires a bit big, my next set of wheels wont be as aggressive i don't think.

Some updates:

My header is now all welded up, bolted onto my head:

You can see from this picture my new Mishimoto radiator's coolant inlet port is located right in the way of the header now:

So had to move the port over:

Clears now Smile

Luckily the new header was in a very similar position to the old one, so the downpipe was fairly easy to modify:

So i went to install the supercharger so i could finish my aftercooler plumbing aaaanddd Evil or Very Mad The LHT manifold hits the S pipe.... You'd think they'd have experienced this before, obviously not... See where the manifold should be lining up with the supercharger, it's off by maybe 12mm:

Yep, here's where it hits:

Going to have to make a spacer to move the S pipe over... Hopefully that doesn't mean that i need to re-do the intake piping grrr. Also the IAT sensor doesn't fit the manifold anymore because the cooling cores are in the way, so i'm going to have to make a spacer for that too... The list goes on....

I would have thrown in the towel long time ago.

I'll just stick to my B16 now. Happy with it!  Smile

Yeah sometimes it's a real shit. Actually most of the times it's a real shit. There's something enjoyable or rewarding about fixing it all and making things work though.

Got a spacer made for the IAT:

Also called John from LHT, I'm sending the S pipe back so it can be modified.

So, doing more stuff over the weekend. I had some new parts come in. New super slim Mishimoto rad fan, is the perfect width for the gap between my radiator and my heat exchanger:

Also i dunno what i was smoking, but i thought that a 90 adapter would fix my fuel pressure reg clearance problem, but after looking at it with my eyes open it's clear that it was never going to work  Embarassed

So dumb lol:

Also did some more plumbing on the aftercooler, put the inline filler point on the IM and made a bracket to keep it in place.

I also bought a Mishimoto catch can, it's a real nice piece of kit, no pics yet... Not too sure where i'm going to put it, i think i'll wait until my S pipe comes back so i can work out where things will route.

Also need to do some wiring stuff but i just CBF atm. All this shit not fitting properly really kicks me right in the motivation.

This is what it's looking like atm anyway:

So i can't help doing random things.

My old twin turbo Leone had a sweet boost light on the dash, which i loved. Everytime the manifold hit positive pressure there was a factory boost light that came on the dash, and i wanted something similar in my EF.

Playing with some different icons and things:

Looks something like this:

I updated a couple of the graphics from the original. It always bothered me that the 'door open' light was a picture of a car with the trunk open, and i thought the check engine light needed updating Razz

In the cluster. Fairly happy with how it's turned out. The etching is a little brighter than factory but if it bothers me maybe i'll change it down the track.

Wired it up to the boost switch too to check the circuit and see what it looks like. Pretty cool!

... This is why my car is never on the road lol

I was thinking of doing something like that, using the shift light from the HF CRX cluster.
