Sorry to hear you had the flu.  Hope you had a merry Christmas though.

That camber kit looks neat and those tires are always a good choice.

Ah flu is part of the Irish winter... and spring .... and summer Laughing

Yea really gotta get working on it now that we seem to be getting some clear weather lately and Im off for a good bit..
Only reason Im splashing out on the camber arms is becasue I sold the Electric window setup from the EF2 so have that money to put back into my sedan

Will have more updates by the weekend hopefully.

Finally got out again today for some work..

After getting the etch primer there was nothing holding me back from sorting out the arches but a bit of good weather to get the car out of the shed to have a bit of room to move around it so today was the day:

Rolled her out this morning early:

Cleaned up the new sections back to clean bare metal:

Masked up and ready to spray:

After a few coats of etch primer, check out my fancy alternative to masking off the door from overspray Laughing :

How it looked as the day went on:

Red oxide primer on:

Finished up on that as I want to leave the primers a few days to dry fully before sanding and colour so heres how it looked after I pulled off the masking tape:

Need to get more etch primer now for the other side which isnt as bad anyway so Ill be getting stuch into that and removing the windscreen to tidy some surface rust..

Also another thing that needed attention was the crack on the jap rear bumper, so in true drift fashion I went with the old cable tie trick Laughing

**And for anyone horrified by my shite standard of body work dont worry it will be getting a proper respray once Ive all the mechanical stuff done this is just to get me by for now Smile **

Updates Cool

Well since I couldnt find any threads or how to guides on taking out the windscreen I went about hacking it out..

Removed Bonnet, wipers and panel under the windscreen..
Now I thought the beading around the window would come off like on the rear window didnt seem to work as handy so kept going anyway intentionally wrecking at as I went Embarassed

After looking at this thought Id need a bonding cutter with a 90degree bend so managed to get a pneumatic one from work for a few hours along with another window bond cutter (blade on a bar basically) I cut it out

**Just for future reference the bonding can be cut pretty easily from the inside with a straight blade if you remove the interior A Pillar plactic trim and the lower bonding from the outside**

Turns out there is a few patches starting to rust so glad Ill have the time to fix them up while the window is out now.. So cleaned up the shards of glass, bonding and general crap that had built up and gave the engine a 10min WD40 detail Laughing

One the GF took:

A few outside for the dry weather:

Started to swap over to the bronze Glass too from the 35M

Differences:

Used a heat gun to remover the plastic so I wouldnt rip it

Back in as good as new with fancy new glass

Think Ive almost finished up my collection of Omori Gauges with the Vac and Oil Pressure gauges arriving last week

Yesterday I went out to tackle the drivers side rear arch car jacked up everything brought out ready to go and then my 4" grinder died with the brushes worn down to nothing Rolling Eyes

So while it was up I took the dodgy home made exhaust of the 35M and said I might as well throw it on to get me by untill I fit the full stainless as the hatch one was melting the rear bumper slowly Embarassed

Also took off the rear doors to face a job Ive been dreading.. Swapping out the glass on the rear doors! As expected the two screws under the door seal holding the window runner were both wrecked so had to be drilled out have the glass out of one now and will probably use pop revits to replace the broken screws.. May also use the runner of the 35M as there is less rust on it

So that has me up to where I am now will be sorting the rear door glass getting the new panels primed/painted up and then think Ill tackle the B series swap with the windscreen out since the dash, carpets etc will have to come out anyway to do the loom and fuel injection install Shocked

So hope to get more done in the next few days and update again..

Oh and these just came in the post this morning from Osaka JDM car tuner based in Japan Cool

I found the rear glass x10 easier to swap than the front.

The front's stupid swing arm type window mechanism is a bigger PITA than the rears slide mechanism. That triangle window just pops out once you've got that bayley channel removed too.

Had the front ones done in about 20mins a side they went pretty handy and think the manual windows might be a bit easier to do..

Yea rears wouldnt be so bad but the bolts on that channel need to be drilled out and the chanel itself and just behind the triangle windo have a little rust on them so will have to tidy them up first before refitting Rolling Eyes

The motivation should be there to tackle them later today Very Happy

Ah - i'm sure that helps. Constantly having to reconnect the plugs to move the window up and down to get it in the right spot...

As slow as ever.. I fitted a new timing belt, water pump, tensioner and thermostat last Friday so I had it out on the road driving for the first time in years. Going to do oil and filter this week and sounds like it needs a rear wheel bearing so going to get it mechanically right and get it on the road for summer.

Ive been struggling to find time for mine recently... But our weather has been good to us recently so i can't wait to get back in the garage.

What's funny i guess is that good weather in QLD Australia is colder than normal, where i'm sure in Ireland it's the other way around Razz

Man I forgot how much I like this civic everywhere Ive been with it since Ive had it back Ive been getting compliments from people cause they are gone pretty rare here!

Anyway it failed the National Car Test (NCT) on an upper ball joint, brake hoses not secured on front (because of the Tein coilovers I removed the collar for them) and a leaking coilover..
These jobs were all pretty handy fix but when I had them off I done the two lower ball joints are they were very worn and the brakes cause this is how I found the brake pads Shocked

Obviously a trackday and being left sitting for 8years isnt ideal

So new disks and pads and sprayed up the caliper so its all looking and stopping a bit better, I was shocked the front disks are only 230mm though I think Ill be upgrading to 262s off the EE9 soon anyway

All those jobs done the car is tracked wheels balanced and ready to go back in for a retest thursday to get the certificate

Have more pictures of the smaller details Im at too on it, Ill get them up during the week Cool

These CF48s are actually a different set I bought too.. I saw a guy local to me post a picture of his Mk1 VW Scirocco on a forum when he picked it up in UK and was surprised by what I saw

Extremely clean 14s in original paint with all caps and emblems Cool
I got in contact with him and after a little haggling got them for 250.

Its nice to have the original caps but there is no way Id trust the clips to hold them with regular driving so I picked up two different sets of replica caps one from Mark Wanzal and another set from Robert Ritter both are great quality and have a set on them now daily
