Whatsup guys, been browsing this forum for a good little while now simply because I enjoy sedans. I owned a 1991 SI hatch but it was recently stolen and stripped. But the D16 wasn't touched. Long story short I ended up getting a blue LX sedan shell from a buddy for a great price. Bay had already been shaved and painted but just needs some TLC, threw a seat in my hatch and drove it to my buddys house to start swapping the motor. The LX was previously automatic but they swapped it to manual. So far everything is just about set up; engine mounted, wires tucked but ran into a few speed bumps and also I started my job again this week so I havent been able to make a trip out there. Well enough of the terribly put together run on sentences, hah... Basically this is my daily, but I do enjoy all of the rare parts that the EF's offer so I will be throwing some goodies on her. But nothing crazy for the engine for now, I love my D16 too much.

About to take her out of the hatch..

Bay all prepped and ready for the D

Picked up this for my hatch just before it was stolen, going to see if it will fit in the LX

Rear fogs I also had on my hatch but took them off to mount them better the day before it was stolen. Lucky me on that one I guess..

I also have some USDM 90-91 front fogs but I really want some EF2 JDM round fogs, I am really searching for any rare goodies for my sedan. So please feel free to PM me if anyone has some good stuff for sale. I also have some ZC hatchback tail lights for sale or trade if anyone is into it. They are great condition and for a 90-91 hatchback.

And for those of you who enjoy wagons here is my AK shuttle that we are doing a full restoration on. Its a 1985 push start 4WD. Shes a beaut!

If you feel up to it, I have a build on civic wagon for it, titles "The Third Gen Turd"

Anyways, enjoy!

Welcome.  Sad to hear about the hatch but I'm glad it was a gateway for a sedan.  I've seen you post on Facebook.  Keep watching those groups and you're bound to find some rare goodies.

If you don't end up using that map light please let me know.  I'd love to buy it from you.

The wagon is awesome BTW.

Thanks a lot man, it was a huge bummer with the whole situation with the hatchback. I am still tracking down my parts for it. Lucky for me the thieves aren't very smart so I was able to track down a few of them fairly easily. I will keep you in mind for the map light, I searched a long time to find one though. Razz

And thanks everyone else for the warm welcome. Cant wait to get this thing running so I can start working on cleaning her up. And yes the 3rd gens are very hard to come by, especially the push start 4WD's. Its a beautiful car but slow as hell. hah

Well not much progress on the sedan yesterday, just some little aesthetics while we wait for some parts to arrive. Gave the carpet a much needed shampoo, also painted the side moldings and mirrors. One of the previous owners installed side skirts on her that looked terrible so I will probably end up putting some wagon ones on eventually. Also put an extension on my shifter in the wagon, I dig the look of it.
Before

After

Really hoping things start going a little smoother this week, going out to my buddys Thursday to try and make a full days progress. We will see where it goes from there. Enjoy!

Still not much progress, had a bunch of problems with a fuel line. Ended up having to order a replacement line after a week of troubleshooting. Long story short, I have just been stocking up on parts and trying to get rid of a few accessories that I had for my hatchback to make room for sedan related parts.

Found a blue audio console and picked up an equalizer as well. Had a replica personal box in the hatch but I guess the thieves didn't like the decal because they ripped it off. Ended up putting it on this ash tray, I dig the look even if its fake. Razz

Picked up some 16" Carving Head 40's, pretty stoked on these even though they have some bad rash on two of the rims.

And last but not least an SIR bumper with fogs and lip, tried to dig as much as I could on how this will sit on a USDM sedan front end but it seemed like everyone said either that it wont fit at all or that you just need to trim the USDM support to the curves of it. Got it for a great price so if it doesn't work out ill just keep the fog lights and sell the bumper. If anyone knows of a write up with valid information about this let me know, I have seen in done before so I know its possible.

Also picked up an air refiner from a first gen honda legend, looks very similar to the EF2 air refiner. Hopefully some actual progress will be made in the next two weeks..

Cardboard on your paint to protect it while you're dropping the motor in! That's ingenious, haha. Will be stealing that idea.

I've been following your resto on the AH over on HCW, really thorough and looks great... Good to hear you've gotten yourself into a sedan!

Finally started making more progress. The dash currently on the LX is so brittle. It sucks to say it but I will eventually it will need to be replaced, whenever I find a blue one in good condition. As of right now I am primarily concerned with having transportation besides my bike. Well everything is looking good except the exhaust needs some work to pass inspection and so that its not obnoxiously loud. Eventually I will put a little dual tip pea shooter on it. We put the bumper and fenders on today, finished up the auto to manual conversion that was in the works when I bought the shell. Also started putting the carpet back in, ignore the shift boot... Im taking that shit out, now I just need a manual blue cluster!

This Anti-theft sticker is on my buddies EX sedan, if Im not mistaken it came with the Honda 3000 cassette decks. I could be wrong though, just thought it was pretty rad

Finally got the valve cover back from powder coat for the wagon, pretty excited to get it running. She hasn't gotten much play in the past month.

If anyone has a set of bumper lenses and housing for a 90-91 that they would let go for cheap let me know. Dont really care if they are cracked.

Thanks man, these are going to be the first set of really nice wheels that I have owned. I know you have to cut down the USDM bumper support to fit the SIR bumper, from what I have seen its a lot of cutting. Might just end up getting the JDM support as well. If you know anything else about it any info would be appreciated. Too much controversy on the fitment of it.

Yeah the cardboard idea works great, beats scratched paint! Glad to hear people actually enjoy that thread. Hopefully it will get going again soon. Razz

Thanks guys, the wagon is a different story. It hasn't been fired up for almost a year now so it might not be too happy when that time comes. Also it needs a full exhaust. Hopefully by September it will be running again. Going out to my buddies shop tomorrow, if everything goes smooth I will be driving the LX home.

Well, she's up and running. Haven't had time to take any pictures lately, hopefully I will today, been slowly adding accessories to it this week. I snapped a picture of the map light mounted, still need to route the wiring through the driver side pillar. Its just been so damn hot out!

More pictures to come!
