You can't just line it back up again? Make sure that the cams aren't 180* out. Or you'll be smashin valves left right and center. lol

ok so i changed my spark plugs and still wouldnt start. as I was double checking all my tubes and plugs i noticed that my vaccuum hose had a huge corrosion hole in it and after taking it off the nipple was extremely clogged with corroded pieces of the old tube so im almost %100 sure that this is my problem because a engine without air will not idle. now i just have to find a replacement hose. Advance auto and pep boys dont have what i need so i think im going to honda in the morning, I can go to the junkyard and get one off a civic but i dont really want a used hose to just give me the same problem later. wish me luck!

Sounds like the PCV (positve crankcase ventilation). Be careful not to break the valve which is attached to the IM when you replace the hose.

Hmm, that hose isn't the same on the carbs, but If it's in that position it's a PCV hose.

i don't think a clogged PCV hose would stop it from starting....
Did you check if the timing was dead on again? thats the only thing that moved after you changed the head gasket...
I would redo the timing just to make sure if i where you.......

just my .02.....

No, i doubt it would run well though with a vacuum leak in the intake manifold.
