What lube should I put in my new tranny?

I've been told 10-30 motor oil will do the trick. But idk if conventional would be better. I'd get the Honda stuff, but idk where to get some. The dealership? My moms accord needs to go in on recall so Mabey there idk? I get paid in the morning and want to deal with thus tomorrow after school.

Yea you can get it at Honda

And if I just want to use motor oil what would be best? Any brand you like to use.

I would use the Honda fluid. I think it's like 30-40 bucks for 3 quarts. Its been awile since i bought any though so i cant really remember. You can get it at the dealership. Regular 10w 30 will be fine also. I would prob go with conventional. Not 100% sure on the oil though. But i always use castrol or mobil 1 oil in my engines. I have always used honda or royal purple in my tranny though. Maybe that will help you decide or confuse you more. Lol

Mobil 1

Well its just over 30 for the royal purple and I only need 2 quarts. I'll check on the Honda stuff. I just don't get how inexpensive conventional motor oil does the job haha.

Ya I know. A lot of people use oil. I used the royal purple once and I was hooked. I honestly wouldn't use anything else in mine. Just my opinion though. All 3 choices will work just fine.

That should do you fine man and when you get on your feet you can ether swap it for something better or leave it as is.

I'm a big fan of synchromesh as well.  Works great and feels very smooth.  I definitely prefer good ol' genuine Honda MTF now.  It's only about $8 a quart at the dealership.

I put Valvoline 10-30 synthetic in and the four gears that work feel great. Will do that or Honda mtf with the next tranny. Anyone gotta tranny they wanna pass on lol?

wait you only have 4 gears? or you have 5 but its not working? if you have on the 4 gears i believe thats the HF trans. i have to research it but i think it is. Either way the 4 speed tranny is the best for a Monster D drag set up!!! i say keep it and get another trans muh man!
jmanwantsboost

No it's a standard D series five speed but fourth is gone. Sucks but it's drivable
