well think its that time(valve lash) :(

well think its that time to check and re-adjust my valves since hasn't been done since I installed the motor last September. just tryin to decide if I wanna pull and replace valve stem seals as well. any suggestions? I have a good set, not that set from autozone where all the seals are the same.
tenkaracole

lol that's what im thinkin, just gotta get some zipties to remove the springs. I have noticed im startin to burn oil or something while in second gear and when I get on it hard, just cant tell if it is actually oil because I gotta replace my oil pan gasket again or tighten it up.
HondaJunkie

Might as well replace them if you already have a set and usually if you have blow back while under load that's piston rings but if your stem seals are bad enough I can see you blowin smoke.

AGREED^, might as well just change them since you are already there my friend.

see I don't think I installed the new set correctly when I rebuilt the motor back in October.

Run a leak down test and save yourself the time and money.

will do

also was told could be my pcv valve malfunctioning, cuz I do have a lot of oil residue in the tube and manifold nipple, pcv rattles but was told that doesn't mean crap lol
EF4lyf3

change that out first my friend. that makes a pretty decent sized difference in some instances.
89CivicSi

ya i have another pcv valve im gonna swap out with and hopefully that stops the oil issue into the mani

do you have the hose from the VC to intake tube?
89CivicSi

yes that is installed as well, but does it matter im using the b2 vc instead of the a6? i know there is a difference in the baffles. but majority of the oil looks like from the pcv hose, but the vc hose does have oil too Sad
4dred6

i never run that shit (hose VC 2 tube)
89CivicSi

lol im thinkin of plugging the intake tube, and just throwing a lil filter on vc.
4dred6

yea that would be better
89CivicSi

also why is the Si a6 vc different than the b2 vc? i mean it all bolts up the same, just way diff baffle design
4dred6

idk. maybe emissions related?
89CivicSi

idk lol google aint come up with shit either
tenkaracole

IDK! Confused  I tried to figure that out once too
EF4lyf3

possibly the fact that the B2 VC is made for only a 2 injector and carb motor. And the A6 is considered a type-R version of the B2? Extra air? Emissions? More oil? a lot to take into consideration my friends. Very Happy

^^smart ass! Laughing
