UKDM ED2 Superior Blue Sedan

yo guys, over the pond in the UK from you lot but love the US sedan styling.

ive had 4 other ed/ee/ef civic my first sedan tho.

Doing a bit to mine at the moment, shes an auto but got a d16a9 lump to go in (ZC i think you guys call it )

anyway heres the pics and progress so far.

So far shes got a VT/SiR front bumper with a chargespeed rep lip in poly.

i plan to finish her off with either and ef2 bonnet and 1 piece headlights and ef2 grill or full VT/SiR front, see what happens.

Rear spoiler im unsure of, it may be OEM or aftermarket. it came with the car if anyone recognises it? may be from a rover 216 GTi?

any where heres some pics

then got some new shoes

Rial 15 x 7 et 29

drivers side sill needed attention so cut the rot outwelded a plate in there and undersealed the sh*t out of it.

test fit them, decided i liked them but needed more poke so got ARP long wheel studs on order and 15mm spacers.

going to spin the coilys down a few mm when they arrive so it sits nicer.

more grinding out rot...

all on the sills/arches as per usual with our weather.

welding the sill up, lots of fresh metal followed by a caking over underseal

fitted my rear brace

finished the welding on the other side, my mate tom is a DON he shaped this piece of metal so well i couldnt believe the end result, with a bit of filler an a little time itl look brand new again

sprayed the mirrors too.

thats all for now, what you think?

yeah man loved those wheels BR racing 3 piece splits.

14 x 6 so to small both ways! couldnt find new lips either so 14 x 6 they were staying. bad times.

nice one bro , trying to keep her looking fresh!
James4G

welded this up today on the passenger sill.

and got polishing on my wheels

haha sweet. your project is epic.

tyre size is 175/55/15 buddy

i was using 175-50-15  but with the stretch as well they were a bit harsh an potholes suck in the UK

If you have the cash and up to the challenge go for the front end conversation but I personally like the way it is now... 2 ef's in the stable  Very Happy

true true. see what the cash flow is when i make my mind up. Horde parts for a bit maybe?

haha yup the ED7 is in a sorry state as i just stripped the whole interior and engine loom out of it!
James4G

today i stripped my civic for it interior loom (and some of engine loom)

my plan is:

change fuel tank for F.I. (my sedan is carb)

install pedal box + cables ( mine sedan is auto)

install gear linkages

install 1.6-16 Interior loom

drop engine in

Twisted Evil
4dred6

this thing really looks nice. those wheels look like enkie 92s.
i would keep it the way it is. but if you have the chance and money
to get all the ef9 front. do it.

Steve's sedan

http://efcivicsedan.myfreeforum.org/ftopic672-960.php

just go to post #28
James4G

aye that does look nice!

i dont see what problem hes having with the wing tho. retain the sedan wings and sidelights and use the VT front filler , headlights and bonnet, bumper needs 12mm of spacers and its perfect....

i may buy the headlights as a nice Plastic set just came up for an affordable price.

i do like the look of it atm but it needs a rear lip , different tailpipe and i cannot wait to clean the engine bay ready for the new lump.

clean bays are the boy!
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Good stuff.
James4G

nice one buddy
James4G

updates have been slow as ive been busy as fuck

the arches are complete! lots of rubbing down etc etc.

welded all fresh metal in (pics on previoua page)

added filler and stopper, didnt get any pics of this as my arm was on fire and i thought it was going to fall off haha.

still needs a mop and polish gonna do this after the paint has had lots of time to go off

heres some pics

got the bottom of the door to do and a nick on the front wing. also got some welding to do under the rubbers on the boot seal, started to leak with this rain.

the civic is almost stripped for parts, just waiting to lend an engine crane

bac_ed36

Tank looks like new. awesome job.
James4G

nice one guys.

need an engine crane to get the conversion moving now!
James4G

update

since funds are low the engine conversion is on hold til i can sort a manifold, rocker cover gasket , manifold gasket and paint for the lump/gearbox.

although since today was nice i decided to clay bar the car to get all the overspray and underseal over spray off.

spent today on the rear doors making the paint like glass. took ages as the previous owner clearly didnt believe in cleaning the car. the rear doors now feel like glass. look amazing the reflections nuts. Going to spend the next nice day on the other doors and the rest of the car is being machine buffed and cut back with G3 as ive had various bits sprayed.

Added a TRS tow strap up front in black so its subtle and re alligned by front bumper. looks miles better no gaps between the wings now

89 LX SOHC ZC

Looks good man.
4dred6

i really like that ef9 bumper. i love your car man
ilove(.)(.)

wheels are sick
James4G

HUGE update

decided to start my swap....

took the fuel tank off to find that hatch back ones DONT fit.

the fuel filler neck hose is in a complete different place....

SO i thought id make most of the situation and fit my polybushed RTA's and rear disc upgrade from my ED7.

took the old drum brakes off and undersealed the life of everything.
Took the tank off to get to the handbrake cables easier.
Black hammerited everything under the tank to keep it fresh

did the sills too...

then finished my disc converison...

and added some D1 lightweight wheels nuts

boooom titty
