Trunk tray for our sedans (updated with new pics)

Hey guys i was sitting at work(local Honda dealership) the other day and thought to myself how cool it would be to have a trunk tray for the sedan. Well the sales manager brought a trunk tray back from a newer civic that we had already installed and said the customer didnt want it. So then the wheels in my head really stated turning. I took it home and put it in the trunk and it fit up pretty nice. Its not perfect but it covers most the trunk very nicely and says civic on it as well. I will try to post pics soon to see what you guys think. Im absolutely in love with it.

Might just be my very next purchase
mp_89dx

yeah its a real real close fit. length and width at the bottom and to the top are pretty much spot on.

Yeah I know and that would be sweet to have. The only thing about this one though is you can walk in to about any Honda dealership in the country and buy it brand new for a little over $100... or less if you get the hookup. I work in the parts dept. at the local Honda so Im always looking for things that could benefit our 4 door community.
ef_newb

looks pretty sweet.. any chance you could snap a couple more pics of how it fits in the back corners?

Hi guys. Im new here and found your site on google.Im gonna try this one.
mp_89dx

As you can see from these closer pics the fit as far as length is spot on. Its just a little off in the sides and corners. The water that you see is from my newly discovered leaky trunk. Im going to try and get that fixed asap. The tray helps to catch the water though and prevents it from getting down into the spare tire well and causing any water damage.

There's a local insurance salvage yard that only does late model cars and I'm ALWAYS looking for this kind of stuff to retro fit into older cars.  So far I've snatched up OEM cargo cover and floor mats for a 08 Fit that are in mine now.  Saved me like $250 from the dealer, along with all the 2012 black unmarked Civic floor mats I've gotten.

Edison post pics!!!!!!!! Of.everything you retro fitted, as for the original Ef sedan trunk tray that would be dumb to pay 3 to 5 bills for a trunk tray lmao.thats just stupid this one is alot better not to mention brand new not all messed up cause its from 88 91 u know.

So far in my sedan I'm only rocking blue DA Integra seats, EP3 one piece rear floor mat and OEM Integra Type R red stitch shift boot, and a OEM 90-91 Prelude steering wheel with horn ring mod so the horn works.

Here you can see in the background EP3 Civic Si floor mats I was rocking before I had my CRX mats, along with the ITR shift boot (which everyone and their momma has lol)

Prelude wheel retro fit.

I'll put the EP3 mats in it tonight and get a pic of the one piece rear mat.  I haven't been able to find a trunk mat like the one posted in this thread.  Sorry to thread hi-jack.
mp_89dx

No problem. Just glad to see the thread staying alive with fresh ideas. Im currently working on an old legend spoiler retrofit. Will let all know how it turns out.

same wheel i have, but no horn for me =[ had to make a 1/2" spacer to keep my knuckles from smashing the stalks all the time

Here's a Canadian one for a hatch

EDM one:

Robb

Here's one for a wagon that may fit well inside a sedan.

My ex GF had a hatch and I think the hatch one would be too small to fit in the sedan's trunk.

I always thought about taking the fabric cover out of a hatch, measuring it to some wood and spraying some bed liner on that to make a sort of trunk tray.  What you guys think?
mp_89dx

use the wood as kind of a mold and make a custom hand laid fiberglass or carbon fiber trunk tray Smile

It doesn't unfortunately.
ef1

just got mine

doesnt fit perfect on the sides but other than that its ok
Robb

I wonder if there is an aftermarket one made by weathertech that fits right ?
mp_89dx

maybe, but it wont say civic on it and will cost really close to wat the honda one cost
89ef2

Old thread but do have a question... is it hard plastic or kind of flimsy?
