Timing

my timing is way off
my car goes slow when i push the gas at the start
i think it might be the ditributer ha idk how to spell
but idk
anyone got any ideas what i can do to fix it

if you dont have a timming light make slight adjustments to the distributor till it feels "peppy"...but to start the top of the distributor case should be centered on the cam cap thats aprox 16* BTDC

but idk
maybe i should just take it to a shop
maybe it is something else
but thanks
or if you have any other ideas please tell me

i was trying to fix a timing problem i had, i moved my timing belt a tooth and that caused the problem your describing, only about 10% of the throttle was responsive, whilst giving it any more throttle would make it go slower, from memory i could only get it to do around 35-40mph too.

So check your belt is on the right tooth.
