The archive of my hometown has collapsed :(It very strange tragedy happened today in my town, Cologne (Germany)
At the place, were it happened, is a underground-station in build.
Many problems in the past years happen.
I can't believe, that they aren't able to see, that there are problems with this buildings!
Many works of historic people are gone - FOREVER!!!
I am SOOO happy, that no man died in this tragedy.
Only 10 metres, on the other side of the street, is a school.
Kids wrote messages to local radio stations, to thank them school crafts, that they have a secons life!
It's so amazing, you cannot believe!
I'm very shocked at this moment right now.
And I don't know only one person of that nine persons, who are missed, right now.
The house crashed onto the street, were many people cross - every minute ... every SECOND!
Some pictures, only 2 kilometres from my flat you can finde here:

Here's a video of a loval TV station:

You don't have to understand the speech. You only have to watch, what there has happend.
In the middle of the video they show a high building. It's the old main police departement. It's in danger now, too!
If THIS building crashes in, then there is a bigger tragedy than today, you cannot believe....
the toilet has gone
old picture taken from the 1970s, when the building was new built:
In the front is the place of the tragedy, in the background, behind the river "Rhine" I'm living:
some days ago:
it looks a little like I can imagine war. I have never seen war. But this seems to me like war:
I hope such things never happen again, when I'm alive!

two men are missed, at this time, yet!
They can't start the search to that people, 'cause the ground is unsafe.
Eventually tonight they can start a search, 'cause they filled a hole under the bottom of the collapsed archives.
Here's a text from wikipedia, that you know, how big is the loss for Cologne... Germany... for whole Europe!
The Historical Archives of the city of Cologne, German: Historisches Archiv der Stadt Köln, contains the documents with information about history of the city Cologne, its citizens and the region nearby from the middle ages to the present day. It is the largest city archive in Germany.
The forty years old building of the Historical Archives collapsed all of a sudden on 3. March 2009 at 2 pm. It has been completely destroyed. The collapse is widely believed to have been caused by the construction of a new subway line.
Here are some external links, too:

they found one 17 year old guy, yesterday.
He died, as he was asleep.
A second guy is missed, actually.
They found a coat and the moneybag of this second 24-year old guy.
On this site, you can find a video from the fireman, while they are searching for the second man and recover the archived materials ...
