If I were u I would just grind down the top part of the intake cover or make a flat skinner top cover or u can do the washers but its less threads on the bolt,

Hmmmm ok never thought of that. Thank you jdqcivic4dr

making a skinner cover? Hmmm how would I make one?

Convert to MPFI?

U can also take out the black thing n just run a pipe intake will sound louder, kinda like the ek dx motor.

Btw u can run with out the cover,  its 4 or 5 screws, I took out that small angle metal bracket,   since its open clean the throttle body. It helps

Hmmm interesting well try that n I'll report back tommorow
whoa its len 2

MPFI swap or sell it. Strut tower bars are more cosmetic than functional in our cars. But if this mod is purely for cosmetic purposes then I'm sure a little bending or washers/spacers will do the trick for you. NRG strut bars will contact the DPFI manifold. Not sure about Neuspeeds bar though but those are discontinued and hard to find iirc.

Nrg strut will or will not contact?

N no it ain't for looks, i'm those crazy suspension tuning guys who take those clovers a highest speed lol it's not bad it handles pretty damn well and I notice the differnce when I put them on

Lies. No one ever notices the difference. Especially with the design of Tanabe bar.

Different strokes for different folks hehehe

The NRG bar will contact DPFI manifolds.

Crazy suspension tuning guy huh? It's easy to go by the butt dyno since any sort of mod can easily trick your mind with a false sense of confidence. Unless you can accurately measure time and g forces and then also prove they are directly related to the addition of your front strut tower bar I'm calling shenanigans! Crazy guy is right!  Laughing

Pretty much any strut tower bar you buy for the 88-91 Civics / CRXs was designed for the MPFI versions (usually they have disclaimers on their websites stating MPFI only). I have never heard of any company that makes one specifically built to clear the DPFI engines or even one that will clear the throttle body for that matter.

Can't comment on the effectiveness of them though, have heard valid arguments for both sides. Some believe our cars are as stiff as they will ever get (minus a rollcage) and other believe additional structure and support is never a bad thing. I would say its your money and your car, spend it how you want to. If it gives you more confidence in your driving and car's ability, then you could possibly see improvements at the track (whether the bar is doing anything functional or not).
