Rear shocks

I have a bit of a noob question about coilovers. I'm done some research and I have a question.

Are the rear shocks on ED/EF all the same or did some come out with an 'eye hole' at the bottom and others come with a 'fork' style bottom? I've been looking and CRX and EF coilovers like BC, Buddy Club and SKunk 2 and noticed a lot of them seem to have fork bottomed rears. Which I thought was normal until I looked underneath my car and realised the bottom of my shocks looked different. THey have the eye hole type hole similar to my mx5. Basically a loop at the bottom of the strut.

I'll take some photo's tomorrow to show what I mean a little better, it's a bit too dark to take some snaps at the moment.

Plan on picking up a set of BC BR (gold) series coilovers in the next week but don't want to buy the wrong thing. Any help here would be fantastic.

Oh and some bg on my car if it's needed:

I think all the 88s came like that from factory (mine came with them)

Ok rad. So will I have any trouble fitting these for instance?

Yes you will. unless you change the lower control arm to a 90-91 platform then you will need to order the correct year for these shocks..

Yeah thats what I though. I can't find any decent coilovers that have my 88 bottom ends though. I'm going to a wreckers tomorrow. Might be able to rip out the lca's from a later EF if I can find one.
Is it possible to use the EG lca's?
EF4lyf3

Yes! they fit as well as Ek i believe. I would say to use the DC lcas but they wont fit unfortunately.

Yea you will need 89-91 LCAs or you can also use the Integra ones

EKs won't fit. I'm not sure about the EGs. and DC will fit. I might have the integra ones.

DC will fit right carlos? i Didnt remember if they did or not.

Yea they will
EF4lyf3

sweet. I will remember that then.

What do you guys make of the cheap eBay camber/control arms? I was thinking of buying those but I feel like they're going to have shoddy Chinese diecasting and end up with stress fractures when aggressively driven on or on harsh roads.

The bushings will take a crap on you before anything else. I wouldnt go with it for aggressive cornering at all. If you do then i would get energy suspension bushings and repress them into that platform. otherwise you will be replacing them sooner than you think.

Blox is a very respected company here in the US, but I've never liked their lower control arms

I had a pair, and like ii said the bushings shit on me real quick. All i did was take corners alitttle harder than usual on the streets. but not in every turn and befor you know it my bushings were coming off the bolt and out of the LCA. just my .02

I scored a set of DC2R rear lca's for free lol. From what i've read they are slightly longer so they will cause the rear to have a little more neg camber but that should be perfect for my wheels  Cool

Thanks for the help guys! Now to buy coilovers.... After I fix my damage.
