question about replacing a brake booster

In my car i push the brakes the pedal almost goes to the floor so im thinking if my brake booster is bad or my pads or something but its pretty funny too because ill push them then they will stop faster or slower so i have to pump it a few times. im going to try to bleed them this weekend and see but my question to you u guys is. is it hard replacing the booster and what would i have to do?

thats not a bad booster you describe, thats a bad master cyl.

If you decide to try and replace it yourself, make sure you bleed it before you put it in the car, this is very important, otherwise you will never get the piston moving fast enough to get all the air out of the master.

I have a 96 accord booster and integra master.

If you decide to get a bigger booster, plan to take your intake off, and get an ABS booster from an accord or integra or legend.  They are thinner than the non ABS booster which wont fit, the strut tower will interfere.

It is your master. . like he said. .

I was using my hand brake to stop on my way to the shop to get mine fixed.  . GL!

i got my master cylinder replaced before that. ef stop fine just squeaks i had new pads installed ef didnt stop, after that new calipers no results, then the master cylinder same thing. that shop that installed it wanted to change a lot of other things i said i forget it they are guessing too much. i had to use dog chain to pull the brake pedal back up to pump it i drove around like that for about a year. once i changed my rotors and add steel braid hoses car stop fine. my stock brake line hoses actually expanded. good luck with your brakes. i got my lifetime crossed drilled rotors with pads under $140 at 88rotors good services!

Nissin  They made our whole brake system, including the original pads and shoes. the stock master is cheep, $35 or so rebuilt with lifetime warrantee.  I payed about $100 for the DC ABS master new.  Only thing is the ABS masters have a big ass brake line fitting on them that nobody has and honda makes you buy the whole line to the ABS pump to get it, so find one at a junk yard first.

We had 90-91 EX sedan master cylinder & 1992-1995 EX/Si booster w/all SS brake lines.Worked like a charm!.

We are currently doing same set-up on a 1993 civic EX coupe w/GS-R swap.
