Officially In The Game!

After looking for about a month, or so, I've finally found an EF sedan that I am satisfied with. Really wanted a 90-91, but I'll just swap the bumpers and side moldings. It's a little rough, but it is a project car, and for the price I got it for I can't complain at all. Gonna get it torn down, and go from there. Going to look at a K24A2 this weekend  Twisted Evil

Thats freakin sweet man.

Good stuff.  Can't wait to see what you make of it.

Checking out you guys build threads are giving me mad inspiration. Ripped out the interior today, hoping to have the engine out within the next few days, and my homeboy is ready to spray it as soon as I decide on a color. Praying this K24 checks out as well.

good luck man keep up the progress!

A K24 Sedan? Now that's something I'd love to see! Good luck with your build, good sir!
BruhMan

Started painting my interior pieces today, going from brown to black. I used Krylon Fusion spray paint for the plastics and it came out pretty well I think, will post pics when I get a chance. Gotta pick up something for the vinyl parts. Ordering carpet pretty soon also, thinking about going with red, and getting the seats covered in black leather. Should have my 90-91 front and rear bumpers at the beginning of the week. Got a EDM rear fog light on the way as well. Going to check out the K24 Monday!

I've had many built b series, and to see the kind of power the K's are making in basically stock form, it's a no brainer haha...

I'm actually kicking my self in the ass right now for painting the pieces black. The original plan was to do a complete color change to white, but decided to stick with the OG color which is Laguna Gold Metallic. Maybe I can find one at a junkyard and grab the interior pieces out of it. No updates really tho. The guy with the K24 I wanted to buy flaked on me. There's another local selling a k24z3 out of 09 tsx for dirt cheap, 19k miles. Can't find much info about this engine online tho, I've read the newer K's are much different than the old ones. There's more required to swap into older chassis, etc. So I really don't know what to do engine wise at this point.
BruhMan

Still searching for a block...hopefully picking up one this weekend if thing go as planned...possibly a head too...I got some pistons though!
09 tsx pistons, 11:1 compression, .25 oversized...waiting on this guy to reply back about these manley rods and i'll probably be getting those as well...pics below, so clean and shiny   Very Happy

I ended up stripping the paint and going back to brown haha...Just gotta find a damn glove box...the OG owner replaced it with a blue one...
BruhMan

Finally  Twisted Evil k20a2 head, k24a2 block...gotta pick up a transmission next...get the engine together and gather all of the k swap parts up...

It's a start  Cool
BruhMan

Also found some interior pieces that I needed. There's a guy.about 2 hrs from here that's parting out a few sedans, all super clean, and all have brown interior haha. He has a 90-91 with 120k original miles.

EF Sedan Enthusiast

Nice!
spudwrench

Can't wait t see what you do with it. This is going to be sweet.
BruhMan

Got my rear fog light in today...you guys know where I can get a switch for it? This will probably the last thing I'll be buying cosmetically for a while...getting this k swap done is the 1st priority...

EF Sedan Enthusiast

I've got a switch but no pigtail.  I've heard you can use the same pigtail as the defrost but have never tried that for myself.
BruhMan

Was gonna post pics of my freshly painted dash but my wife lost her balance and fell on it  Crying or Very sad ... hopefully picking up a crx dash tomorrow though...
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Ohh no!
BruhMan

Yeah it sucks but I found a crx dash for cheap! Just gotta go through the whole paint process again...which I'm actually looking forward to because I learned a lot from my mistakes while paint the 1st one haha...

EF Sedan Enthusiast

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

No big updates really...sold my pistons, decided to go bigger, 12.5:1, 87.5mm bore supertech pistons are on the way, along with K1 lightweight rods...hoping to get a transmission, ecu and harness soon, then I'll be mocking the swap up and wire tuck then it's off to paint...will be doing a complete color change, inside and out, well not really a color change, just the stock color(yr87m) with gold pearl added to it to make it pop...currently pulling everything out...

Also picked up some gold paint to see how it would look on the metal pieces, real gold plating is a lil out of my price range haha, what you guys think?

5N4FU

gold is pretty flashy looking, but i think its funny u painted it right on the car Razz
boosted ef2

Dash looks nice..What color are u painting it?
Did u end up with the same gaps with ur dash around the windshield?
BruhMan

^^I have gaps in the corners...gotta figure out a way to get rid of em somehow...

Yeah I didnt feel like making room in my storage building to spray it haha,   and the car is gonna be resprayed anyway... the gold goes with the theme, most of the things that'll be sprayed you wont even be able to see haha...

I was just gonna use sum of the molding from the interior and use that to close the gap

*Cringe* Whenyou get it painted and your fresh paint blisters on the trunk lid because of a reaction with cheap paint you'll look back at this moment and be full of regret lol.

Also all the overspray on your moldings, glass, seals.. ergh.
BruhMan

Everything will be taken care of...I can assure you of that  Very Happy
BruhMan

Got the old engine out...my 1st time pulling one alone, wasnt that bad, an extra set of hands would've been nice tho haha...hopefully getting mounts and a trans next week, think I may have a lead on cheap fullrace traction bar as well...should be test fitting the K within the next couple weeks...

89 LX SOHC ZC

Awesome.
BruhMan

Hasport Mounts came in today...found a used set for $250, they're $500 brand new...still onthe hunt for a trans, wanna try to find one locally, shipping is killer...

4dred6

This is gonna be one sick build
BruhMan

Thanks man. Build is on hold at the moment though. Currently looking for another shell. Found some rust issues, and I really want a 90-91. Just have to buy the wife a new car before I can continue the build. We just had our 2nd kid in June and she wants a minivan now haha. The K sedan is still coming though!
BruhMan

Back in action. Got my wife squared away. Also got my truck back on the road that has been out of commission for about 6 months, needed a new trans. Picked up a new K head and block, going a different route this time though. Gonna build a K24A1 out of the CRV, it's not a true VTEC head but it flows just as good as a K20A2 head. The plan is to swap the rocker assembly out of a K20 head, lock the VTEC so that the cams are running on the big lobe at all times, aka VTEC killer. I still have my 87.5mm 13.7:1 wiseco pistons that I traded my supertech 12.5:1 pistons for that I was gonna use for my last build, also. Not sure if I'm gonna keep my current shell or not. My friend is a bodyman and says he can fix the rust, but I'm not too concerned with the car at the moment, just concentrating on getting the engine together. The block is kinda rough but after a hot tank, engine paint and bore it should look great.
