OBD-0/1 Distributor/ECU

I wasn't sure whether to put this in the electrical or engine section, but here's the question.

Can you run an OBD-1 distributor on a OBD-0 ECU?

Nope

Any specific reason why?

Is it just a matter of wiring/pinning the connectors? Does it send a different signal than the OBD-0 version?

I know one main difference between them is that OBD-0 runs a seperate cylinder position sensor (CPS), while the OBD-1 version has this integrated into the Distributor itself. But I figured I might be able to repin the connectors and run/extend the wires for the CPS for the time being if all other things were equal.

CYP sensor in MPFI dizzys are in the dizzy itself.

Can't remember the exact reasons why you can't run a obd1 dizzy with obd0 but I know that it doesn't work.
