Newbie from Seattle

How's it goin everyone? Been into Hondas for quite a while now. I've owned 1 '89 hatch, 1 '90 wagon(2WD), 2 del sols(95 S and 94 Si), and finally, an '89 sedan.

I bought my sedan for $700 knowing that the motor was goin out on it. Turns out, the clutch pooped out before the motor. I'm currently in the process of getting the motor i had layin around from the wagon (D15) freshened up before droppin it in "Anne the Sedan" lol. Oddly, i've done just about all of the mods i'd want to do to it before i got it running properly lol. Keep in ming that she will be my DD and modds will be few and far in between beyond what's already done.

Engine:

- Stock
- May do a MPFI and OBD1 conversion later down the road
- May also toss in the Ford Probe GT IHI turbo i have layin around
- Factory exhaust has a hole in it, debating on going 2.25" or keep her nice and quiet w/ factory size piping.

Suspension:

- Tokico HP Struts(blues)
- Tein S.Tech Springs

Interior:

- Kenwood Deck
- Blaupunkt front and rears
- Single 10" pioneer sub in ported box
- MTX amp for the sub
- May add an LED strip for the dome light that yall might like.

Exterior:

- 14" steelies(2 match, the other two are different from each other lol)
- 96-00 EX Civic hubcaps
- 185/60R14 Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires
- 6k HID Kit from 3bspec

Pics will be posted as soon as I take some of her. Since the drop and new wheels/tires, I've been more motivated to snap some pics of her. All questions and comments are welcome! Cool

Whats up man, nice to see more people from WA in here. I live about 3 1/2 hours from ya out in Aberdeen. Cant wait for pictures of your sedan.
MRED

Took me a few days but as promised =D

I dunno what happen with the gap difference between the front and rear. Any ideas? I just installed the tein s.techs+tokico blues about 2 weeks ago. i didnt think the rears would drop as much as they did and i kinda figured the fronts would be just a TAD lower. the drop was suppose to be 1.6" front and 1.5" rear. I'm pretty sure i have the springs in the right place. I also checked to make sure that they weren't knock offs but everything checked out okay. =/

hey! the feeling's mutual! I get tired of seeing all the EG's, DC2's, and EK's runnin around town. Maybe its cause all the nice ones never make it out unless there's a H-T meet hahah

thanks everyone for the warm welcome! lookin forward to moochin off of everyone's knowledge on everything there is to know about the sedan chassis.

Good lookin sedan.  Have looked at the wheel gaps on flat ground?  It looks like its sitting in the planter that will give you false gaps.
MRED

I have looked at it on a flat surface. Doesnt really matter the surface, it always still has at least a 2 finger gap up front. Rears hardly have one

It was just a thought.

Yea man everyone goes for newer but the ef has always been my favorite. And about your hieght difference, idk man thats wierd. Before you installed all four were at the same setting or different?

Hey if you ever get bored on sundays we have a G-H Imports meet at 8pm every sunday, everyone is always welcome. We hangout and meet new people, talk cars and ideas etc.

i dunno what you mean by setting. If you're asking if the gap was about the same front and back in stock form then yes. Just about that is. In the intructions, it did say to cut the front bump stops in half which i didnt do. I got confused because in the diagram, it showed a pic of the factory bump stops with all the ribs but the struts came with bump stops front and back. The bump stops literally looked like and were shaped like marsh mellows lol. I dunno if cutting them would make any difference in ride height however.

I usually work on sundays. i get paid time and a half so i work sundays every opportunity i get. What's G-H though? It would be nice to get an idea of what to expect if i were to ever attend Wink

G-H is Grays Harbor. And we usually meet in the Staples parking lot if its nice out and just talk cars, show off our cars or any new parts and just hangout. We get a lot of people from centrailia and seattle and oly that come down when its nice. But when it rains we meet in the Bank Of America parking garage. Our town is small so a once a week meet gives us all something to look forward to and get excited about lol. We also have weekend where we all go to other meets in other areas and we usually go to H-T and Battle Imports when they come around.

Marshmallows huh lol. Well hopefully someone will speak up that has more knowledge about that. Mine were easy to set up and adjust to get good stance.

Its all good I just ment it looked possible.  I did some serching on google and that looks like a common complaint with the tein s.tech springs.
MRED

Hey! I REALLY appreciate your time lookin into that. I didnt come accross any complaints on my searches but i could have been lookin for something completely different. I feel better about the drop now. At least i know i didnt do anything wrong. Whoop!

Sounds fun! How are the cops around there?
90efLS

Cops are pretty chill. As long as we are respectful and dont do a lot of revving and dont smoke any tires they leave us alone. They do stop in once in a while just to check out some of the cars and talk a bit tho lol its actually kind of cool. But for such a small broke town there are some sick rides. A buddy of mine just finished a b20 vtec build in his DA integra and got some nice jdm body goodies and its pretty legit. Infact if you have facebook search G-H Imports and you will see what its about pretty much and some nice pics. So you get the suspension issue addressed yet?
MRED

I'll check'em out on FB. imma leave the suspension the way it is and see what my alignment shop can do or says about it. I did confirm that there are quite a few complaints about not sittting evenly. It doesnt bug me THAT much and i knew the ride height wasnt going to be what i truly want since they are just drop springs. They ride real nice, just tad bouncier than i was hoping but i cant complain since my other car has stiff nuespeed race springs on it.
