New member from upstate New York

So I bought my civic when I was 16 as my first car and I have loved it ever since.  After 3 years, it is still mostly stock.  With New York winters taking their toll on the body, I don't even know where to begin, and am kind of embarrassed by how it looks compared to other ef's I've seen on here.  I'd like to post some pictures though if I could figure out how.  Thanks for having me!

any plans for it?

Nothing specific yet.  That's kind of why I joined this forum, to get ideas and advice and whatnot.  First I want to get some of that body work straightened out though.  But I'm on a college student budget too, so it will be slow work.

Thanks, that's certainly encouraging.  I hope to be able to start a project log within the next few weeks and post semi-regular updates.

Welcome! Upstate NY'er here too(Student in Rochester)

I think you and me might be in the running for ugliest sedan Razz

Mmmm... rust. Mine looked pretty much like yours when I got it for $300, it just takes some time and spare sheet metal to fix these guys up. I have yet to repaint my car, but as you can see I patched in some new metal and primered over it(Although it is ready to come through again, will be addressed shortly).

Depending on your upstate location, I may be able to give you a hand sometime!

Haha I know it isn't pretty.  The paint looked that way when I bought it, I swear.  And that awful dent under the door was from the woman who owned it before me.  But I still love it.  Thanks a lot though, and I'm from the Saratoga area, like an hour north of Albany, and am all the way up in Plattsburgh during the school year.

Funny ass quote! But you all up north have it touch with the snow and crap....Hope you polish that gem!  Smile
Doctor Tease

Yeah the winters can be rough on cars here.  I don't see many EF's around here, and the couple I have look even worse than mine with the rust, so it could always be worse.

You're telling me.  I wish I had the money now to actually start doing body work or something, and make it a little more pretty.

Do it urself it will save you a ton of money in the long run and youll appreciate it more
Doctor Tease

I wish I knew how to do body work.  I guess it's a good time to learn though, right?  I also want to get it up on a lift and see what the rust is like underneath...
