New guy from NJ

Hey guys. I've been in the Honda community for a couple years now, but as of a few months ago I got my hands on my first EF Sedan. I've been on this site every now and then and I figured I'd try posting on here and getting involved a little bit. Anyways, enough about that...

I'm 19 years old, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in New Jersey. I'm originally from Arizona. I've had an EG bubble and a 91 CRX si. The sedan chassis sparked my interested and I decided I wanted to get one. Long story short, I found one on Craigslist back home in AZ and had my mom go look at it for me. Paid $1400 for the bad boy and had it brought out over Christmas. The car is a '90 EX Sedan, ALL ORIGINAL!!! MINT Interior, original motor, 163 k on the d16a6 and a pretty straight body. Paint is faded pretty bad in some spots but it is a 20+ year old car from sunny Arizona. I'm pretty sure I saved this gem just in time, because judging by what the previous owner had done to it already, it wasn't headed in a good direction. I know everyone likes to see lots of pics, so here ya go...

here are some pics of the car when I (Actually my mom) got it.

Yeah, you're guess is as good as mine on this one....

Water pump starting leaking few days after it was picked up.

Here's the Sedan sitting next to my old Rexy. My mom is driving the CRX in AZ now.

And this is shortly after I physically got my hands on the car. I painted over the rims and covered up the weird face thing on the hood.

Swapped the suspension from my CRX so she's sittin' low.  Very Happy

Yup, roof is black too...

I guess the previous owner thought gold painted parts added HP.

JDM YO!

You don't even want to know how these were mounted...

This is the most recent pic of the car I have. Replaced the hood and trunk with matching ones and replaced the gold painted stuff under the hood.

So there she is for now. My plans for the car are some wheels and tires with my tax return. Lol I'm thinking about getting some xxr 002's, 15x8 +0. I've also been piecing together an H2B swap for a little while now. I was planning on putting it in my CRX, but now it looks like it's going in the sedan.

Anyways, thanks for looking. Let me know what you think. I'll try to post on here frequently and keep an update on the car.

You deserve a handshake and 2 pats on the back for saving that car. The gold wheels didn't look too bad for my tastes.

The frog man removal is your best mod!

Good luck with the car, and maybe when I paint my dizzy cap gold I'll bump this thread.

EDIT: to see how much of a ricer the previous owner is, tell us if it had vtec or not!!

Thank you guys, much appreciated.

Hahaha! The best part that I haven't gotten around to removing is an "si" sticker you can kinda see in the pics on the front doors. I didn't know the sedan's came in an si/EX combo model? Must be super JDM, right? Lol

I am honestly still trying to figure out how the PO didn't ruin the interior....!!

I thought I was gonna have a hard time de-ricing this hatch I got a few weeks ago. (clickable thumbnail)

EF Sedan Enthusiast

Welcome!  Always makes me happy to see fellow enthusiasts saving a sedan.  Looks like you're off to a good start.  Pretty cool that your mom drives your old CRX like that.  In Japan, they offered our sedans in a Si trim during 90/91 (may have only been 91, Steve could probably set the record straight on that one).

Looking forward to this build  Very Happy

Haha yeah, she keeps complaining saying people (or "kids" as she says) keep trying to race her almost every day. lol and yeah, I'll definitely try to make a thread when I finally get everything for my motor swap.
