need help with alarm feature

well decided since its now breaking a 100deg outside with 70%humidity I wanna hook up my auto window feature, thing is idk what wires to cut an hook up at the module, I know which wires at the brain but that's it. an the manual sucks ass for this feature lol
Proper282

Are you hooking it up to roll them down remotely or to roll them up when you arm it? I believe you will need a separate window module to connect to all 4 windows. I have never added the window feature to any of my cars so I'm sure I won't be much help.  But if you shoot over to the12volt.com you can find the diagrams or post in the car security and convenience forums. The guys over there know their stuf and are extremely helpful.

alright thanks, and just to roll them down remotely, says I can use my existing window module or by another relay thing

On my wife's TSX they used a 529t that rolls 2 windows up when armed.  You can wire in 2 of them and control all 4 windows but only in 1 direction. If you get the 530t it can roll 2 windows in either direction.  But cost about $75.

damn lol well my alarm better have the module with it for the price it cost, but that might be for the other feature an add ons I got as well

I only paid $120 for the Viper 5701 that I installed on my WRX. But I paid a little over $500 to have an Avital 4100 (a DEI unit just like the viper) installed on the wife's car back in 06. But dei is a solid product. We haven't had any problems with her avital unit in the 7yrs it's been in there. I've been doing a bit of research though. If the unit you have has the option for the windows you can run that wire to a relay then to your window up wires and it will supply juice for 20 seconds when your system is armed.

wait so run it to the relay, than same wire to the window up wire?
Proper282

You would use the wire from your alarm(approx. 20 sec of power when armed) to the 85 pole of a relay. Pole 87 would go to your windows up wire. Constant 12v would go to pole 30 and pole 86 would be grounded.

That way when your alarm brain throws the singal to pole 85 when you arm it, it closes the relay and sends 12v to pole 87 for 20 seconds to roll your windows up.

u just confused the shit outta me lol pole?
Proper282

Lol! Just pick up a 30a automotive relay. Look at the bottom, the connections are numbered.  It'll make more sense then.

Looks like this
89CivicSi

Lol alright thanks man Smile
Proper282

No problem. I've actually been thinking of adding this feature to my car now lol thanks
89CivicSi

haha its nice to vent the car out before u go out lol
Proper282

Well on real hot days I just leave the air on and use the remote start Twisted Evil
89CivicSi

lol ive yet to set that up, just my gps tracker, prox sensor, shock sensor, an voltage lol
Proper282

It's pretty simple. Which alarm are you using? The 5701 has a manual trans mode that works well
89CivicSi

don't know the exact model num gotta look, but all 4 ways of accessing my cars alarm have remote start features, just a matter of not leaving my car in gear haha. which I tend to leave in 1st most the time.
