need help gettin this bolt off..

yeahh.. before i work on my back shocks and springs i wanna figure out how to get the top nut off on the strut..

when i turn it, of course the strut goes with it.. any suggestions?
immorality

Impact gun?

If not, are you reusing the struts? If not, try Vice Grips on the strut shaft to hold it while someone loosens the nut.
ed3tsmith

nah i'm not reusing the strut, i got kyb's to replace them with. so vice grips should work? cause i don't have impact gun money lol.
Mr.ef2sedan

Do it the right way,''allen wrench''
ed3tsmith

doesn't have that at the top. wish it did. thats what made the front so much easier.
Mr.ef2sedan

vice grips  X2.
ed3tsmith

alright thanks. i'll try that out this weekend if it doesn't continue to rain.
Mr.ef2sedan

Rain a kill joy for working on the ride, hope things work out.

vice grips with open wrench. i would just remove  all the bottom bolt. and take out the top center bolt while its in the car its safer.

We got it done on sunday. Lower control arm was messed up when we disassembled everything, so we grabbed another one from the junk yard and put my kyb shock on in like 10 minutes. I'll get new pics by tomorrow. Smile
