My new rims and the epic journey to attain them.

So it was an epic 260 mile trip out and back. I'll let my few pics speak. Wish I had more haha. The wheels are 13 inch Honda access sport rims from an 83 accord!

Thanks man! Idk I just call them snowflakes. They are vw though. Came with the car. I was going to paint them but one rim is curbed real bad so it wasn't worth just getting tires.

try wheel cleaner first! you can get it in most automotive departments, and you just put it on a rag and wipe down your wheel! Very Happy  normally not very expensive. dont know if anyone else knows what im talking about?

Lolol for sure. I'm gonna look into it so my wheels have a mirror shine. Might paint the unmachined bits but idk yet. So Honda Roots on facebook told me the optional ten spoke Honda Accessories rims for 83-84 are rare indeed

Most people use progressively finer grit sand paper, or emery cloth, then a rubbing compound on a buffer. Then clear coat to seal.

Interesting. They are already polished I just need to clean them up. The PO told me he used super fine steel wool and some special cloth stuff.

Any truck stops nearby?  Most truck stops sell good aluminum polish that as long as they are not clear coated will polish them up like chrome with some elbow grease.

Wheels are nice, and I always use Mothers to polish aluminum

Unfortunately not but I will look into that. I'm not adverse to spending a couple hours making them shine Wink

Funny now that you said that that's what brand chrome polish I tried.
