What is done to it.This is my 88 civic lx sedan.
i bought it for 800 and put it up for sale for 1500.
i got many offers but just couldnt sell it.
i <3 it too much.
this is my daily driver as well as my project.
it has a stock d15b2 with 224k miles on it.
plan on doing a mini me.
i just recently fixed a major idling issue it had.
it would idle up to 3k.
it turned out to be only an ect sensor.
i also am going to have to fix an oil leak but i dont know
where the oil is leaking from yet.
i have thrown a shortram intake and short throw shifter on it
so far. i have a brand new 4-2-1 sohc header waiting to be bolted on but dont plan on doing it till the oil leak is fixed and do a dpfi to mpfi swap to start off the mini me.
p.s. i repainted the old rusted steelies black with a white lip for the meantime. hope u like. ^_^

good luck. and it might be leaking from the main seal. if its stick and oil gets on the clutch it might slip. thats what happend to mine but i fixed it and now its good.

how bad was the leak?
mine is pretty bad.
and it might be from the main seal like u said.
because sometimes it feels like my clutch is slipping a bit.
i took it to a mechanic but the dude didnt know what he was talkin about. he said it was leaking where the transmission meets the engine. and that it needed a new gasket between there. but there is no gasket between the engine and transmission so i dont know.

well its the main seal. its just like an o ring that goes around the shaft that ur trany meets ur engine i think thats seals the crankshaft. well my leaked a few drops per hour. if u would want to do it when u get a new clutch and get that main seal then throw it all in at the same time its not hard u can take it off with a screwdriver. u will need to take ur flywheel off also to get access to it. how long has that been going on
|
Tha Bread
|
hmm so its not a gasket that goes right there its an o ring?
its been going on for awhile(were talkin months) and it drips alot after i have been driving around for awhile. but when the car has just been sitting maybe only a few drops an hour.

im probably not gonna get a new clutch for awhile.
atleast until after i do the dpfi to mpfi.

i am going to be converting it myself.
using the knowledge i get from the internet.
Lol i have already fixed one of the problems with my car thanks to the internet. and it looks like i might be able to fix the oil leak also
thanks to ur help and the info u have given me.

yea man thanks.
after the oil fix.
im gonna be doing the dpfi to mpfi swap.
get new spark plug wires.
some coilovers.
throw on my 4-2-1 sohc performance header.
get a catback exhaust system.
and run it like that for awhile and take care of the paint and body.
after the paint and body i will throw on the vtec head and plan on boosting it.
