MPFI Questions

So when i got my new motor from attarco i got a MPFI intake and it looks the same as a y7's intake so i'm assuming it is and was wondering if i'd have to convert to obd II to run or can i use a pm6 ecu to run it?

Here are pix of it

Im pretty sure you would have to convert to obd2 to run that intake manifold. You dont have to use that manifold though. You could use a D16a6 intake manifold and keep it obd0 or even convert to obd1 with the D16a6 manifold. I have a JDM B18B in my sedan and it has an obd1 94-96 integra intake manifold on it when it was obd0 and it ran just fine. It has since been converted to obd1 though.

I hope that helps you.

dang i was hoping i could use this cause i have it already but i guess i'm just going to sell it and get another intake later down the line. oh well atleast my 4door is running solid now.

thanx Projekt_ED3 you been helping me out alot with my new motor.
Projekt_ED3

Your welcome bro. You could also use the DPFI manifold too but you wont see a significant power gain like you would with the Si manifold and ECU
EfSedanDX

well i got the motor running with DPFI but i wanted to give it more power.
Projekt_ED3

Just convert it to MPFI and pull some more power out of it. you can convert to obd1 too but that wont get you that much more with everything being stock.

well the only reason i haven't tried running MPFI is because i didn't have the money to do it but my brother traded his friend for the MPFI intake, and harness. i just got the ecu the other day at the junkyard but what else do i need? my current ecu is throwing the code 16 (Fuel Injector System) so now i'm thinking if it's bad i'll just swap it out for the Multi point and the code should go away. right?
Projekt_ED3

Code 16 is normally for when an injector goes bad. Swap to Mpfi and you change the injectors so it should go away if it doesnt you have a wiring issue.

i used this writeup to do my conversion and had no codes afterwards.

If i had the Si harness do i still have to do all that wiring or would it be plug and play?
Projekt_ED3

Easiest way is to Use the Si harness to convert your dpfi harness. The connectors at the firewall are not the same between dx and Si.
EfSedanDX

oh i see. well i still need to get a few injectors for the MPFI and i might as well grab some DPFI injectors while i'm there.
