Mattes' Civic ED2 SedanHere's the story of my lovely ED2 Sedan.
I know the car since the delivery from the dealer.
I was sweet 6 years old.
My grandparents lived only one house away.
My Grandfather was the one who bought the car.
At the first time (2003) I don't wanted the car for me - reasons:
It is old! And it has automatic transmission... f*** gay....
But only one year later I began to love the car.
At the beginning of 2005 a friend gave me my first alloy rims as a gift!!!
6x14inch rims with 185/60R14 tires.
Only 7 months later I bought nice O.Z. Racing F1 rims (7x15inch) with 195/45R15 tires
Many people gave me very nice offers for the rims! Much more money, than I'd payd for these rims!
But I love the rims and they are not to buy
Then I layed the car lower with H&R springs. 35 mm.
WOW! Nice effect!!!
After that I bought a nice sportmuffler - 2x90 mm Mohr exhaust - WOW COOL SOUND!!!!
A D16A9 4-2-1 header I bought, too.
The middle exhaust is from a Civic EE9 - B16A1.
So, now I have the maximum power on my D14A1 powered ED2
But the engine is now broken
The oil pump has break down.
Egally!
So now eventually I buy a CRX EE8 with B16A1.
The offer is very nice!!! 1300 Euro! Such cool!
Some specs ('til 01st April 2008):
Honda Civic 1.4
1400 ccm
90 hp
double carburetor
automatic transmission
mods:
-H&R winding suspension
-EE9 middle exhaust (B16A1)
-ED9 4-2-1 header (D16A9)
-Mohr sport exhaust 2x90mm
-O.Z. Racing F1 alloy rims, 7x15 with 195/45R15 tires
-ED3 facelift front-bumper
-ED3 facelift tail-lights
-Victor steering wheel 340 mm
-some parts of center consoles painted in the color of the car
-central lock installed
... and such more!

Aaaaaaaaah! I'm in fear of my ED2!
Yesterday I was at the place, where the Sedan stands.
There's water IN the car at the windows.
Water comes in it at the rear center garnish.
And I can't park the car at another, dry place!
I'm so in fear!
I need HELP!!!

I want that beat real bad!! its on my list of cars to own.
never heard of the garnish leaking. Where is the water colecting?
if its leaking around the trunk, make sure theres no leafs or debris around the seal, if its clean, you probably need a new seal.

Wait till i detail my CRX this spring, she just hit 80,000 miles before put away for the winter....minty fresh. (but it wont look as good because its a A6, unlike that DOHC zc)

oh, I forgot my ED2 Thread
Sorry, I'm late!
The guy who wanted to sell me his crashed CRX EE8 (B16A1, 150 hp, VTEC), has decided to rebuilt that car and don't sell it to me
That is really mad for me!!!
Now I'm serchin' a "new" engine. But that's truelly hard to find such an engine.
Now came the guy to me, and said, that he have a friend with an EE8, too.
The car stand still since some months.
But that's equal for me.
I only need the technical parts to swap them into my ED2.
So: New hope?
I hope, that the friend of that guy says "YES"
Please, god, help me!
In the first moment, as the guy said to me, that he won't sell the car anymore, I was so frustrated, that I bought OEM fog lights from eBay Japan.
look at the pictures here:
And now I'm still waiting for the arrival of that parts and for the dimmer, that Clipse wanted me to sell
Regards

|
Mattes

I don't sell my tail.
I have a 2nd Sedan. But I'm holding all parts, I can need.
It's everytime possible, that anyone can crash in my tail. So I have some parts
Sorry

damn lol my search continues

Have you got those foglights installed yet?
|
Mattes
|
no, they are at the tax station (is this the right word? )
And I have to pay taxes, when I get them.
That's not the problem.
The problem is, that the station opens between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
And I am on my new job between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
That sucks
But, I think, that I'll get them next friday

|

easy to get???
The most parts, which I have, I bought in the United States of America, my friend!
Some parts from Malaysia or Japan.
So, where can I get easy parts?

I find it funny that Americans are always complaining about the lack of parts, but most of the parts bought are originally sourced from America.

We complain cause all of our parts suck. We want the JDM side markers and dohc awd. We get stuck with the garbage.

exactly. but i misunderstood then

were do I connect the blue wire, on?
The black wire from the left lamp is for ground.
The green-red one from the right lamp is with a connector on it.
I hope, that I have the right counterpart on my EUDM ED2
But: For what is the blue wire from the switch?
And: Are there any relais between switch and lamps, that I don't have?
Here some pics:
Am I JDM?

So Yours Is Automatic Also?
|
Mattes
|
'til now, yes!
But if the B16A1 is built in, then no longer any more
For the B16A1 is no atm available...
|
~Sp33~
|
I read this thread before Mattes, but i didn't have anything to add sorry. My fog lights came already wired to my car (OEM).
|
Mattes
|
Thank you, Clipse!

Mattes

hmm, the badge is bigger, than the space is on my light up garnish
|
~Sp33~
|
That's because the sticker is for a hatch, and the hatch doesn't have the lines running through it, so there's more room.
Looks like it would still fit though?
|
Mattes
|
no, it's caused from the light up....
On my old black garnish the "CIVIC" badge is more uppon (is this the right word?)
well, I put it on.
I don't give a fuck about the measures....
|
~Sp33~
|
Looks good on there.

does the car have vtec or is it just for show?

I'm not willing to do show badges on my car.
My car gets a B16A1, if I get one...
I hope so *hmm*
|
JDQCIVIC4DR

thats looks nice havent seen vtec in person, only the special edition.
|
Mattes

So, new ideas in my mind....
I thougt alot of my "dream": B16A1 in a ED2....
But I got a little sceptic about the possibillity and much more: The easier way!
Shall I build a D16A9 from CRX ED9 with 131 hp?
It's much more easier to build in and a D16 has power all over the rpm and not only in VTEC-area...
hmmmm....
What do you think?
|
~Sp33~
|
Unless your doing 6k+ rpm, there isn't alot of difference in the power between the d16a9 and the b16.
There's alot more aftermarket support for the b series though.
|
Mattes
|
D16 has cheaper parts....

*update*
A friend of mine from the south of germany gave me an offer to buy his D16Z5.
But I said, that I'll come between christmas and new years eve.
He said, that he wanna sell the engine faster.
hmm, so I start to search again.
And I found this ugly CRX only 80 km away from me.
550 € (~810 US$) shall it cost.
Should I buy it?
The seller says, the engine is in a very good condition.
136000 km it has ran

Not bad, plus, you can part out the shell to recover costs.
I'd probably go for it if i had the room
|
Mattes
|
the guy sold the car befor I had the chance to watch it.
fuck off!!!! Now it's sold.... I dunno what to say. I'm speechless
