Josh's 91 ED... Lets try not to wreck this one too...

So some of you know I have another Civic, well had. Infact I don't know, I guess I still have it. It's in the driveway on jack stands but it won't be driving any time soon...

Long story short I ended up buying another Civic online... In another state.

I took a bus

A flight

The subway...

And a train

FINALLY it was time to pick it up

It's a 1991 manual Silver ED sedan with only two previous owners, the last of whom owned it for 14 years and only drove it to work (a block from their house) and back. It's been very very well maintained and the interior is like a new car. I'm very very happy with it and look forward to spending more and more time with it.

Plans right now are to leave the mods simple. I'm in love with how smooth it is to drive right now and enjoying it for what it is. But I'd like a shift extension and gear knob, some new wheels (thinking Mugen CF-48 now), lower it about an inch and get some wagovan skirts and a da integrea front lip. I'll be happy with that I think.
Better pics to come.

nanotech

Hahah what's the go with you guys all wanting RHD?
~Sp33~

Wow this one looks super tidy.
89CivicSi

Because Racecar lol jk no its just the fact you don't see rarely any, and cost way to much to convert and wayyyyy to long.

Man I love the new sedan, love the color, I want rhd.  Sad
89CivicSi

lol id give my left nut and first born for a rhd ef, well maybe not the left nut haha but whats ur plans for it?
nanotech

For now keep it stock, change all the fluids, new tyres, brakes, fix some of the small paint scratches on it and get it looking even nicer.

At the moment i'm enjoying the comfort of a stock car but I'm going to be lowering in the future and I'm already tossing up a few different sets of wheels too. Other than that, I'll track down some wagovan skirts and a da integra lip.
I want to keep it simple and basic on the outside. On the inside I was originally planning on a set of Recaro's or SiR seats but the interior is way too clean to touch. The fabric on the seats still feels new.

So instead I think I'll get a shift extender and a nice gear knob and probably leave it at that. I would LOVE an oem sunroof but I really don't want to cut anything on this car up or risk damaging it, it's hard enough to find a clean on of these things as it is.
89CivicSi

ah nice what u gonna lower it in? and if u swap seats I call dibs on those hahaha that's if u sell em

Super clean pick up man it make a long trip well worth it when the prize is that good.  Cant wait to see more pics.

If I lower it, I only want a 1.5" drop max. Plan is to keep it comfy so I'll try to just do shocks and springs rather than coilovers.

Coilovers are fine in the mx5 but I'd rather avoid them if I can in this car.
As for wheels I'm tossing up between 16" te37's, 15" work equips, 15" Hoshinos and a few others. I'll be doing a big test fit day up in Melbourne with a mate who buys and sells wheels through his small business that container ships parts from Japan to Australia. He has a heap of rad 4x100 wheels there so I'll be rummaging through his garage test fitting until I find a winner.
I've already somewhat made up my mind already but who knows, I might end up with something completely different. I'd like the car to make the decision for me.

Some things will be hard to get though. Wagovan skirts will be a pain in the ass to find in Aus, and I don't think our DA integra's had lips. One thing I'd love are OEM Honda window deflectors/visors. The ones with Honda embossed on them. I don't know how I'd go finding them though. Also planning to track down some Honda floor mats too. It has dealer option ones but not the legit "Honda" factory ones with the writing on them.

Now to look at gear knobs lol. Shifter feels like it's a bit far forward and 2" too low so it would be good to have an extender with a slight bend in it and a nice heavy gearknob no top like a skunk2.

I vote Works. But TEs would be sweet too.

Sounds like you need to hook up with Steve (~SP33~).

Too bad we're on other sides of the country!

Yep they did, anything from 86-93 will be suitable.
Jace

once josh has detailed it, i'll take some nice pics and you guys can see just how mint this thing is.

it's a 9.5/10 and i'm mad jelly. Sad
nanotech

i'm baaaaaaaaack

Totally have not forgotten about this forum, however life has come up recently and this and that. But the update is that the Honda has rego now and things can begin.

Since I sold the SSR Meshies, I'm thinking of putting my Work Cr-01's on it but I think I'm a bit optimistic fitting 15x8 et-6 on a Honda haha. Since nobody will buy them from me I may as well hang onto them, least if I put them on the Honda they won't be wasting away in the garage.

Also plans for next week are to get a new subframe for the old Honda and sell it off.

Can't wait to drive this car now, heading off for a spin!

super minty fresh! I love what you want to do with her and the fact that you can appreciate the OEMness it. I got my 4" shift extension on ebay for 5.88 shipped. Its perfect height. Not to much not to little. shifts very smooth too!. Keep it up, we love what we see.
Robb

Car looks tidy !

Sweet.

Well no pics and not much of an update. But just to touch base, I put the old wind deflectors onto this car.

And I have wheels inbound from YAJ Wink

Wheels are a fortnight again. I'm super excited about them, will need to be cleaned up a lot though, lots of polishing, maybe a repaint, new stickers, badges and so on.

Oh and another thing, rear shocks finally are on the way out so will be ordering me some coilovers soon.

As for car plans, I don't really have much else in store for this thing aside from driving it from a to b. My mx5 is almost back on the road with a supercharger on it (tuning phase now). So the Honda will be a comfy refreshing daily.

One last thing, who owns the awesome gunmetal sedan on ronal turbo wheels in the banner? Can someone link me to the build thread?

Here you go man.

Can't wait to see them wheels
EF Sedan Enthusiast

At least you still have it  Very Happy
~Sp33~

Can't wait to see some wheels on it.

You're not cruising up to NSW for World Time Attack Championship this year? I usually head down for it every year. There's going to be a few EF guys meeting up hopefully..... Hoping to have mine on the road by then.
nanotech

Yeah i dunno man, it's tempting because I've never been but it's a big trip. I'll have to think about it.

Dying to get some wheels on this car, I'm actually kinda pissed off at myself for selling the Formula mesh. I'm tempted to buy them back off the guy I sold them to. He's keeping them under his bed and still hasn't fitted them to his car which is a bit sad. Worst part is that I owned one of my favorite sets of wheels and I sold them before even putting them on a car Sad But I guess I didn't know I'd be buying another sedan so soon after wrecking the first one.

See how I go, I guess I'll have the new wheels soon enough anyway. I'm still not sure what kind of condition they will be in since I only had poor photo's from YAJ... I'll post pics when they get here. I'll have them hopefully one week from today. Depends though, my assistant manager is doing the pays this week at work so I'm a little worried, I may not get paid properly and have to sort it out. She's a bit of a retard so fingers crossed.
nanotech

Long LONG time since last update :\

So I finally decided to get some wheels Very Happy I managed to pick up an absolutely MINT condition set of Work Cr-01's for an absolute steal. Better yet, they even came with 90% tread tyres Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

They were super dirty when I got them, but after a good scrub they came up fantastic. They still need a decent polish and some more elbow grease, but for now I'm happy enough.

The sizes are 14x7 +28 all around, and are wrapped in 195/60/14 Yokohama A-drives. Probably the ugliest tyres ever to exist, and a bit ballooney but they do the job.

Plans are to lower it and get me an oem lip next. Absolutely loving this car. I have a couple more bits to install sitting in my room, but I need to give the car a good clean before I bother.
89 LX SOHC ZC

Lookin good man it should look really good when its dropped.
nanotech

Thanks man. I'm still not sure what to lower it with. I'm leaning to coilovers, possibly BC's.

Any recommendations?
EF Sedan Enthusiast

BC's are good, Function & Form are also good.  Love those wheels.  Will look great with some smaller tires and a solid drop.
nanotech

I'll go with 185/55/14 Yokohama S drives I think. Decent tyre and smaller profile.

As for coils, I saw the function form ones but unfortunately shipping kills the value. I live in Australia so although a lot of cheap coilovers might be good in the states, getting them shipped here adds an instant $300-400 to the price depending on the coilover.

So a $1100 set becomes a $1500 set. And for that money I'd buy KW or Tein.
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Very true and the s.drive's would be much better.
