Jaseum's project log from utah

Hello, i just bought my sedan about a week ago for a new project.  Its a 1989 dx, and its white... kinda ha ha. its definitely a project car. i only paid 600 for it and it runs and drives and the motor and trans are perfect. cant wait to get started on the project. this will not be my first honda, i actually have had two honda accords and i have had an eg sedan, always love having a sedan and always will.   This is the first forum that i have joined and i hope that i can have help and maybe help others out with things.. i have never had a car this old but i hope to make it something people notice, there arent many around where i live so it will be fun

Thought id show some stuff that i have been up to.

So i bought this from a girl i knew in high school, she was going to scrap it at the junkyard cause she threw a rod! picked it up for 200 for a parts car

I needed things off this car, i took the hood front fenders bumpers and the headlights,  This is a 90 and mine was a 89 so its the newer bumpers and stuff and it was also painted bumpers.

my origanal car ready for the new parts to go on.

also picked up these wheels and tires for 100 bucks, they were pretty trashed but i cleaned them up and painted them

before

after

also took some time to clean up my valve cover and i also did a gasket and new plugs and wires for now just to get it running smooth

and so after three days of work and a good wash later... here is how shes turned out for now!

and also that my daily in the background, 96 sedan accord

Yeah i would  like that, i need to do another update actually
jaseum

Hey guys I thought that i would just take a minute and do a quick little update.  Not much has changed since the last update really but here ya go!

First off i tinted my car at work, this is also what i do for a living

Next thing that i did was FINALLY lowered it, accept i did it on Raceland Coil-Overs

I had been going to a junkyeard for a few weeks trying to find a lip to put on my sedan, and i finally found two volvo Lips, i cant remember what the volvo was but its the populer one.  it fit almost perfect but i had to cut and bend the ends to be flush with the wheel well

Next thing that i did was i bought these del sol wheels, they are spotless! and they had new tires and i picked them up for 100 bucks, hell of a deal if you ask me! i still have the white ones im trying to sell that so that i can get newer nice wheels

Since this last picture i took the racelands off and went back to stock struts and some h&r springs.  The racelands were cheap that why i got them, and as the saying goes you get what you pay for, there were garbage! may as well have gotten ebay coil sleeves.

Let me know what you guys think, im always open to suggestions and ideas!

And if anyone knows where i can get an 88-89 tail light center garnish i could buy or trade, i have a good condition 90-91 one.

Thanks for lookin!

Looks very good man, 100 bucks for the wheels that's not bad .

Keep posting and learning more and before you know it you will be SR. 4g4d Enthusiast. It takes time and dedication to the site and the lifesyle of these cars. Very Happy
HondaJunkie

Nice I like your sedan you did a good job at putting that front lip on did you use a heat gun to help you around the corners.
jaseum

i used a pencil torch to bend it and i used a dremal to notch the sides to make the bends easier and more flush.  Its pretty flush and i plan on posting some pictures of how/where i cut and bent it to fit flush

Yeah man that would be pretty cool, im assuming you're going to weber state?
jaseum

whats up guys?  ive got a quick little update for all of you,  as you know i live in utah  and its cold as hell here all, colder and longer than usual so i havent done to much on the ef lately.. Its been killing me not being able to work on it!

but i have done a few things.. i had a buddy who got an ef and he wanted loweing springs so i gave him the ones i had they werent anything special, and it would motivate me to finally order some nice suspension!

so i read up and i decided to order some of the Megan Racing Ez street coilovers, they came the other day and im really excited to put them on!  mostly cause my car is monster truck status right now!

I also orderd some parts for my car that got here today to really get the front end driving smooth.. the car does have 260000 miles on it ha ha and i dont think a lot of stuff has been replaced ever.  i got upper control arms, lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends and some bushings. hopefully everything goes on smooth

anyways here are some pics of the coilovers

if you guys dont know i work at a tint shop and we do stickers and car wraps but i made this sticker the other day and i think we all have quite a few miles on our cars, if i have enough people willing i might make a bunch and sell them for a couple dollers

Thanks for looking guys!
89 LX SOHC ZC

Nice pick up on the coilovers those and all the suspension goodies shold be really nice.
jmanwantsboost

That sticker is awesome! Would be cool to have a 250k + one too! I personally want the gas pump 30+ mpg one haha
HondaJunkie

Nice pickup on the coilovers what is the spring rate on those by chance?
89civicracer

Sticker is cool.. i need one with a 325,000+ hahaha!

jaseum

i finally got around to it all this last weekend, also took my junkyard lip off and sanded and painted it, also intalled some rear mudflaps.

here are some pictures!

before suspension and stuff with painted lip

After a long day in the shop!

Next to my partially owned mostly my friends ef hatch that we wrapped in this red

and i got these window visors today, and the white steering wheel the other day off our local city classifieds for 20 bucks!

planning on finishing the body work in the next week or two and then wrapping it, gotta decide what color though!
89 LX SOHC ZC

Lookin good my man.
89ef2

Roughly how much would it cost to wrap a car?
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Looks good.  What colors are you considering?
4dred6

most places will charge between 1500-2000 for a car like an ef for a full wrap, but where i work at a place and know how to do it ill be able to do mine for cost of material, so like 200ish for my whole car
jaseum

EF Sedan Enthusiast wrote:

i havent decided quite yet, i was going to do a pearl white color but i think im leaning towards more of this flat metallic charcoal color we have, its pretty sweet and ive never seen an ef with anything like it
jaseum

holy crap guys! its been forever since i have been on here! and i effed all my photobucket up so i dont have any pics in here anymore. but ive got a huge update for you!

first off i said goodbye to my daily driver of 2 years. my 1996 honda accord, i loved this car but ive been making pretty decent money recently and i thought it was time for an upgrade, but here are a couple pics of it

it was a great car but i dont need two old cars for projects lol.
But here is my new daily!

2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SL! this thing is fully loaded! leather, heated seats, heated steering wheel, bose! its just luxury compared to what im used to lol, had it for about a month and absolutly love it!

but enough about the not ef posts!

i finally tool the time to get the body most  of the way straight on the ef and i fixed all the rust and got a new windshield cause i broke mine fixing all the rust above it.

and now what ive been talking about since day one! i finally got my car wrapped! took me and two guys at work about 5 hours.

here it is right after we did it, still needed to do some stuff to hide the small white spots here and there

today i bought a roof rack and put it in and i lowered it back down all the way and put my lip back on

there she is fellas, thats how she will be for a bit till i decide on some wheels and other stuff! lmk what you guys think!
89 LX SOHC ZC

Looks good man.
4dred6

Looks cool man
89ef2

I like it Cool ... would like to know how much the wrap cost?
Sancho

Looks very nice. Approximately how much vinyl did you use? Will you be at the Utah Hondas show/meet this month? I've got a few questions about vinyl wrapping.
jaseum

im going to try and make it to the meet but may not be able to make it there..  i used about 12 yards of 60 inch vinyl.. i got it from work and so i just got it for cost pretty much and i paid 280 for all the vinyl and well installed it myself
Sancho

Hopefully you can make it, I'd like to see it. Im thinking of getting vinyl from regional supply in slc.
jaseum

That's where my film came from
HondaJunkie

Looks great I like the new look is that a grip royal steering wheel you have?
89civicracer

Nice.. I haven't seen a 4 door sedan wrapped yet.. you are the first one i've seen.. good job.  Laughing
89 LX SOHC ZC

Gman's is wrapped.
