integra Master cyl's

There is about a $20 differance between the ABS and non ABS models and i was wondering whats the differance??? i have the ABS pump/accumulator, and its been flushed out, and filled with DOT5 and i have ALL new hardlines run (currently all dry and empty), i will get the ABS unit, install sensors, and setup the whole sha-bang later, but i wondered if this is somewhere i could cut a corner, because i cant imagine what could be so differant between them?

If nobody knows i will go with the proper MC.

wow you are doing an ABS conversion? I don't think I would ever attempt it heh...

if there is any difference between the two MC's I would guess it would be in the diameter of the cylinder, but I do'nt know if there is or is not. you might be able to go to a parts store and compare the two if they have them in stock.

one thing about the integra abs pump/accumulator is that theres a couple small seals that very commonly leak and makes the pump run a ton and it gets very annoying so it would be smart to replace the orings or seals that are in there... not sure exactly where yet I havn't done it on my integra. look into it though

Thanks for the warning, the type pump i have is the one with its own res, And i know its going to be tons of work, but it shouldnt really be that bad, i have access to the factory electrical manuals, AllData, and Mitchel on Demand. and there are 4 Salvage yards within 5 miles of my house.

Its going pay off when at the track. turning into a corner and just the rear right wheel locks up, its the only one that gets reduced brake pressure. normaly you would have to live with it locked up, or let up on the pedal.

So eat that all you (i preferr to not have ABS) people, i am totaly against traction controll, but ABS it has its place, and it will give me an advantage against other cars in my class (if i decide to race it)

thats excellent that you have all the resources available. my abs also has its own resivour (just for the abs system... doesn't go into the brake system)

also, I believe there are a total of three channels for the ABS to work... Front left, front right and rear. just keep that in mind. there are all four sensors, of course but it will do the rears at the same time if one locks up... as far as I know.

Yeah, thanks, probably just a fear thing, and my knolege of electrical. nothing is really special, anyone can go to a junk yard, get an ABS pump, go to the auto parts store get some lines and a flare tool, and do the same at their home.

OK i finaly found the differance between the two, and i feel bad not posting it as soon as it was discovred. The differance being the non abs is 15/16" and the ABS model 1"
