howdy88 lx sohc 5 speed owner. no pics right now. its at the hobby shop still. bought two months ago. just got done rebuildin the head and valve train. i put a new cam in but no surprises its stock lift and duration. put it all in yesterday and at the end of the day no workie. top dead is correct and compression is good. ignition is good so looks like my first mod will be an updated fuel rail and injectors. (watch it be a clogged filter).
my future "planned" mods will all be mechanical. might throw on a body kit. i definatley plan to update the brakes. (sorry no name brands yet, thats chosen the moment before the job is started). im chuckin the wheels and gettin a much need paint job. either cherry red or metalic silver. (currently gold).
btw if anyone has any mechanical questions shoot em at me. ill be glad to help. ill be sure to share my projects and all the snags and solutions i come across.

lol money. a substantial lift that would actually matter enough for me to spend the money i was goin to have to get a new head and rockers to use it. also the engines have timing belts. im gunna wait till i can update the cam gears and switch to chain. i had already rebuilt the oe head when i noticed the burns on the lobes. when i got to do more in depth mechanical mods ill probally do the swap then. saving up and doing it all at once will help keep me from running rich.
intake manifold w/ cold air
headers
high volume fuel pump
performance throttle body
high flow cat exhaust system
camshaft w/ performance head
new pulley system
sounds like dreamin but im slowly buyin parts and just gunna wait and do it all at once. then again i may just get excited and start doin it. in that case then id more then likely do the tb, intake, in headers first, then finish off the exhaust system. then new pump and fuel rail/injectors with more lb flow before i tackle the head again lol

I don't think i've seen anyone convert to a timing chain. What's your reasoning?
