how to use 86-89 accord shocks to lower our sedans

86-89 Accord (88-91 Prelude are the same) struts will lower the car about 1 1/2" - you need to use the ED/EF springs and cut one coil off - put the ED/EF upper mount on the strut - they will fit the ED/EF fork with a slight modification - the locating tab on the side of the strut is a little wider than on the ED/EF - you need to file or grind out the notch in the fork to get it to fit - this is what they look like on our car with 22" tall slicks

heres a pic of the stock ef shocks(on the left) and the accord shocks(on the right)

use these to really slamm your ride!!

do you have any pics with anyone runnin that suspension?
jkgonzalez3

that hatch has them installed.

The ride height on the hatch looks stock though. I would like to see pics of your ride with the install. Just lookin at that modified strut looks like it will dump the ride insanely low. I am not a fan of super slam rides though. Cool info btw.

well right now i dont have any pics but ill take some for you.well this mod is done by guys who slamm there cars.you dont have to slam your car to take advantage of this though.some lowering springs or coilover sleeves with a medium drop would be perfect for this set up.

heres a pic of a hatch with accord shocks and a big drop

Looks dope.

That drop looks dope but probably rides like anus, right? Sad

Too bad, I would sport it, but that + my 300lb fat ass = destroyed rims, bumpers, floorpan, etc. Laughing

well slammed cars tend to bounce alot more and ride stiffer.
some people wouldnt like that kind of ride quality but hey your slammed so deal with it  Cool

well my sedan is slammed and my fat ass hasnt broke anything on my car as long as you drive cautiously youll be ok.
Type-S EF

do they work for the rear too?
jkgonzalez3

Um i dont remember exactly but i believe that the rear is the same as the stock ones so i would just run ef rear shocks. Cause they dont have shorter travel like the front ones so theres really no need to run them?
bigrob119

CAll me crazy but I'm seriously considering this for my setup. I've never had a crazy low ride before (my NEuspeed race-equipped EX was about 2.25" lower but didn't tuck) and I love the look...
jkgonzalez3

^^ do you have any pics of you sedan??
bigrob119

PICS HERE IN MY LOG
jkgonzalez3

looks good it would definately look killer with a bigger drop.
bigrob119

Now, both the front AND the rear Accord/Prelude struts will fit, right? Gonna order some Accord KYB's and EF Skunk2 springs, but I want to know for sure before I order the struts.
jkgonzalez3

yes, with alittle modding of course.

if you can just get ef rears.
