How much should i spend?

I new here, but i have been browsing as a guest for over a year. Not far from my house there is a 1989 honda civic lx sedan sitting, i have been watching the car for over 2 years. So now that i am looking for my first car (im 15) i would really like it to be a EF sedan. but that car has rusted threw rear fenders, and other light surface rust, and is covered in years of tree sap. it also has some stained seats, but other than that it is pretty clean inside, and the odometer reads 158,xxx. It needs new tires to (again its been sitting), but i would like to breath new life back into this poor honda, even though it is in rough shape and doesnt run. So have much should this be worth? its all stock and granted not fancy, but it will be my first car.

Do you know someone that can do body work? If not, pass and save your money.

I dont have any way to upload pics, but i really like this little honda. I was thinking the ballpark of $350. My dad knows how to do body work and is willing to help. Also i plan to take a class on it next year (they teach it in shop at my school.) thanks for all replies!  Very Happy

By the way ef sedans are hard to come by in my area, Crying or Very sad  i dont know why Question  I prefer the older sedans and would want one more than a newer one. So how could i find one in my area? I have looked repeatedly on craigslist, and other local classifieds? SO i am at a total loss.
Idea Maybe i should buy a domestic and turn into a ricer Shocked  Twisted Evil

Look on craigslist at states that are next door you will have to make the drive to find what you want but it will be worth your time just my 2 cents.

If you and your dad can restore it then go for it.

I'd just save up and buy a fresher starting point, but you have time to work on it and I respect wanting to save a car from being wasted, especially if you have the means to do so Smile

Thanks for the kind replies guys. Very Happy  I dont know i guess i go talk to him and make an offer. If he wants to much I'll walk away, but if its cheap... Swing for fences. If i dont get it I just hope someone else does, so it can be treated like it should. Very Happy
