Hey what type of Suspenion set are you running?

i am currently awaiting on H & R Racing spring F 2.5 R 2.0. I'll be rolling on shocks stocks, and would like to know other members suspensions set up, Question is don't know if it's stupid, but do i really need to get front camber kit? or just the rears. i know on some cars its the rear that cambers most, if someone can correct me that would be very helpful. Thanks in advance

I used to run Neuspeed Sport Springs and Tokico Blues. I wore my front tires down within a year. So, I got a camber kit for my front end, not so much the back.

Now i am running Tein Super Street coilovers and still with the front camber kit, none in the back and it does not wear my tires down...well, it takes longer than if i did not have the camber kit.

Im running Godspeed project type ss coilovers with skunk2 adjustable front upper control arms and I just added washers to the rear upper control arms if you dont plan on a lot of camber adjusting its fine if you plan on track tunning get adjustable rear upper arms.

I have ksport springs with tokico blues and am running no camber kit at all.... been 6 months and no kind of excess tire trend... really happy with the ride, stance, and overall confort compared to others

Thanks guys for your input it made me think about just installing them and seeing how they run. IF i need them then I'll buy it , as for now the car is just going to be my daily till i am done with med school. Most of you guys are running on coilovers which i plan on getting later in the future. Hey if possible can you guys post pictures of your car stance?

I'm looking to lower my car as well. I don't want to dump it due to our crappy roads and a daily driver. But I want a nice stance. Couple of friends say cut the springs. Some say eBay coilovers. But my fiance had ebay coilovers on her ej1 and it was bouncy. I want a smooth ride and not spend a bunch of money. I'll be running stock struts with it. Anyone have any ideas?
89civicracer

Don't cut springs and definitely swap out shocks if you do springs. Stock shocks tend to want to bounce back as high as if they were in their original stance... They do not do well with dropped springs.

The invention of the coilover took care of it all....

But to each their own... Wink
90sedan

So I should get coilovers? I heard the megan racing ones are better than the ebay ones. But what struts should I run?
Dolie ED3

Look for koni yellow, with megan racing sleeves!that,s drives good Smile
90sedan

Thats a lot of money in struts. Lol. Because I will be doing two cars due to my fiance picking up an EG hatch. Lol.
Sevwen7

i have koni yellows with megan coils! and cand go lower more! rides good too!

Love this thread.  Let's keep this going Very Happy  Those buttons look so freaking good.

John, your sedan sits perfect.

If anyone is looking for an amazing setup, read Evo's thread.  He's put some serious work in.
90sedan

I heard koni yellows are basically an oem replacement if I'm correct.

Incorrect, I believe you are referring to koni reds. The reds have no ability to adjust rebound unlike the yellows.

I'm running koni yellows with custom rate Ground Control springs. Currently running 400front and 350 rear. I may change them out for some 500front and 450rear in the next year or so. I'm also running Ground Control extended top hats all the way around. I'm pretty low right now and still have a decent stroke.

I am also running my koni's with the c-clip perch at the lowest setting. So far shock travel is very decent and have yet to hit the bump stops.

The car handles very well and only thing I'm working on now is a rear sway bar setup.
90sedan

I'm still reading up on spring rates and what not. Its all confusing to me still. I'm slowly understanding it all. Lol. I like the way sevwen7 car sits. That's what I want. But not break the bank at the same time.
Sevwen7

i got my yellows for $500 before shipping at assaultech.com. comes from alabama so may take some time but its a good deal! use promo code: modified

ef sedan enthusiast: haha thanks for all the compliments on this forum and H-T about my wheels! i like 80's styling haha

Megan Racing coilovers

Hello,
Easy suspension tuning is in your hands. S - Tech was made so that everyone can enjoy sports driving. TEIN based these springs on original specification so that the installation is easy. Full compliance with car inspection, and great styling. Adding some more exicitement to your ride.. The highest quality brought to you at great JayDM prices. Now comes in two types to choose from.

skunk2 pro S2 coilovers
monsterefcivic

Im running JDM tein Basics That came on my half cut last year
Jae_Rex

DC2 Tokico Illumina's on Craigslist coilover sleeves, dropped all the way down. 1 1/2 finger gap in the front, 1 finger gap in the back.

I have Kyb Gr2 struts and skunk2 lowering springs with extended top hats. It handles really well and also has really good ride quality. It almost feels stock. The Kyb gr2 are not dampening adjustable but they are a good upgrade to the stock struts for the price. I also have 90-93 integra sway bars front and rear to round out the suspension setup.
ever'sneighborhood

not a sedan but close to. i had kyb's gr2 shocks all around with those no brand blue coilovers without the sleeve all around and the rear springs were cut about a coil, then i made top hats all around. 1 1/2 inch for the front and 2 1/2 inches for the rear also i shaved down the front brake ring thing on the front shock so it could sit lower.
and believe me my suspension set up was pretty solid. i was happy with it. Cool

and on my sedan i have function and forms type 1 with top hats and other custom work  Cool and i just run a camber kit on the rear on both cars with custom work done to them of course  Cool
jdmhondaa

how did u get function forms to go so low on the sedan??
details please=0 Laughing
91civicwagon

How did you get your function and forms so low? how long are the top hats you used?
jmanwantsboost

This thread seems a little old but I feel like a ten year old on christmas cause I got a sedan yesterday! Stoked! It came with tokico blues and eibach pro kit springs. More than low enough for me. I am used to a 4x4 lol. But boy she handles sweet Very Happy
Jerseys_fyn3st

I rode with cut springs , car handled well and not.so bouncy, IMO better then some Ebay coils. Shocks is.what really.matters to me

I love how well the blues dampen my ride. The car feels very composed. For me the ride is perfect. Coilovers would be BA but my sport combo is nice.
Geo-93

I have function form type 1 I love how it rides just wish I can go lower but quality of it is really good

I have heard nothing but good about that setup. How much do they run?
Geo-93

I got mine for 500
88sedan

i was using ebay coilovers with stock shocks and it rode really smooth, i didnt have the coil on the rear tho just the spring so it was even lower and i was pleased with it

i was under the impression you could go quite low with the F&F type 1's (also have a set in the mail)
EF Sedan Enthusiast

I too have a set en route. Stock type 1s don't slam like you think. They have to be modified to get seriously slammed.
5N4FU

modified in what way?
jmanwantsboost

I think it has to do with modified top hats...
5N4FU

i belive the top hats are just to regain some of your suspension travel after you lower
jmanwantsboost

Hmmm idk Smile that's what popped into my head haha
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Here's some info that y'all might find helpful.

"One of the most frequently asked questions about my car is the suspension..

Here are the specs:

- F&F coilover bodies

- Front Springs: 6" Eibach (rate:12k / 672lbs.)

- Rear Springs: 7" Skunk2 (rate:10k / 562lbs.)

- Custom 1 1/4" Top hats..

- Extended shock towers

I made this setup out of trial and error using different kinds of springs and hats.

Just in case you guys are thinking of going this route, you need to know that this setup is only functional if your shock towers are cut or extended."

That hatch is sooooo sexy...
