HEATING THE SPRINGS (PLEASE HELP)

HEY OK I HAVE A QUICK QUESTIONS MY FREIND TOLD ME BY HEATING THE SPRINGS U COULD LOWER THE CAR WHICH I BELIEVE BUT NOT VERY SURE HOW LONG DOES IT LAST AND IS AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO LOWER IT OR WILL I LOSE IN THE LONG RUN

Do NOT do this please!

If you really want to temporarily lower your car go to autozone and get some spring clamps.

Really I don't recommend that either because if one of the spring clamps goes you can end up with a lop sided car in he middle of a turn.

With the heating up the springs you are risking unevenly heating each one and again lop sided car. Not to mention you will wear your tires out in no time flat because if you won't spend the money on a $60 set of cheapo lowering springs then I know your not going to get it aligned after you put spring clamps and stuff on it.

Think of it this way anything you do the springs is going to totally change the geometry of your wheel aka it's going to look like this when your done /
So that will cause your tires to wear unevenly really really fast.

Do yourself and us a favor and go buy a set of lowering springs and have them put on and go to the alignment shop and get it aligned.

you might as well just cut your springs if you don't care about anything but ride height, or resale value

heating your springs is stupid and dangerous. it ruins the springs completely .. screws the spring rate up and makes them weak and then they will snap. please dont be stupid ... dont put heat anywhere near your springs.
intensels4dr

if you are that desprate some one will most likely give you a set of springs. better yet look for used one in the local autowreckers ive found spring and shock combos for $120
4door4life

Please Dont do it.Plus if you heat them none of the spring rates will be the same and it will ride like crap. why dont you look on H-T marketplace for some used ones, you should be able to find them relatively cheap or get some ebay ones for 100 bucks you can get thhe tein s-techs 100 buck shipped,

springs

the previous owner heated the springs in my honda and it rode like sh*t and rubeed on speedbumps, and the springs were crooked and were tring to wear holes in the shock asorbers , so coming from someone that has had heated srping DO NOT DO IT
and im short on money so i bought a crapy set of arospeed ajustable coilovers and they still ride 100% better than heated springs. but if you have money you cant go wrong with eibach springs in my dad 95' they ride really nice and they are pretty firm in hard corners too
