Function type1 or 2?

Okay so I recently lowered my car like a month ago BUT!! I want to go lower so I've decided to buy some coilovers I'm in the verge of buying function and form type2 coils but I've looked around and I've seen people lower the crap out of the type 1s?? are the type 1s better than type 2? Undecided  Confused A little help!

I know that,  i just didn't think the type 1's could go that low, all people said was they customize the coils to go lower??

I haven't seen these coilovers before but I think I might be able to help.

The base height adjustment on the coilovers may be capped to a certain height, ie: it might not be able to drop the car more than 2" lower.
However, some people will use the spring collar to further lower the car. You loosen that collar and it allows the car to sit much lower depending on how far you open the gap between collar and spring.

There is a big trade off doing this though. When you use the spring collar to further lower the car, the spring will no longer be captive which results in horrible bumpy crappy ride and a nasty bounce.
It's basically the same as chopping your springs. You might get away with chopping a couple of coils but the spring will be loose and shake around on the shock.

I did this before in my mx5 because I wasn't happy with how low my coilovers went in the rear, so I lowered the car substantially more from the spring. I don't recommend it at all. I can't speak for front wheel drives, but it upset the rear end my mx5 and made it bounce around a hell of a lot.. every little bump in the road.

I searched around and type 2 seems alot more legit to stance your car, but thanks bro for the info.

the type 1's are factory preset sprig rates

the type 2's are something u adjust, alot more suspension  knowledge involved in setting up these coil overs.

I wouldn't bother with function man I have the 2s they go very low in the back and that's not messing with the preload. As for the front factory setting you'll still fit 2 finger from fenders to the tire you have to mess the preload to go low with the fronts plus a bouncy and shot ride.

Koo thanks for the info, but I held off on the coilovers I want to make sure I get the ones I really want so I can get the stance I want, so I'm doing my research before I go and spend my life savings lol

been on the F&F type 1's for a while now, i have a even ride height and the ride is very nice, if your having those kinds of issues jdmef2d15b your not adjust right.

if your trying to go crazy low a coilover alone wont do it, there are other steps you must take

and look around on this forum or any other 89dxnuffsaid, F&F type 1's have great reviews from many people, they are a good buy.

Trust me I have 5N4FU lol I came across the bc coilovers and I think I've found the right ones, they have great reviews and from what I've read they go low very low  Very Happy
Anyone running bc coils as we speak?!
Geo-93

F&F type ones are good coil overs im maxed out in the front and rides good
im low but its an addiction to go lower so you can take off one of the rings or two from the sleeves and it goes lower
Geo-93

this is how low my sedan is right now rear can go lower and front i need to remove the rings to go lower
