ef_newb's bucket ;)

formal introduction time i guess.. my name is justin, i'm a single father of two beautiful girls, and i <3 ef's. this is my third one, but my first sedan. i've always wanted one, and finally decided to sack up and just buy one.

didn't bother to get any pics when i first got her, but really.. i think everyone knows what a stock ef looks like, amirite? so skip to what she looks like now..

so outside..

first i picked up the roof rack thru work (yay for cost!) because i tend to haul around a lot of random crap with this thing. decided to ditch the normal clips tho, and added threaded inserts to the roof instead. then i got new panels to replace what the previous kid screwed up. after that, it was time to get my ebay on.. LOL ordered some ambers for up front, and some older apc projector headlights. they were the only ones i could find that didn't have any stupid halos in them. also ordered some 5k hid's to go in them. after those were put in, i trolled the junkyards and found the lip (91 passat) and the fogs (random lexus) still waiting on the 3k hid's for those, as well as a factory fog switch.

next up was getting that thing into the weeds.. ordered some basic coilovers and some new shocks. also picked up some extended top hats to give the shocks a bit of breathing room. also decided i wanted to go the stanced route, so i picked up camber kits for the rear, and new uppers for the front. once everything was installed, went and bought her a lifetime alignment deal at firestone. they're gonna regret selling that one Wink haha

inside this thing was pretty flawless.. did a stealth stereo install (would rather not attract any attention inside) with a relocated source unit. picked up an ir signal repeater and stuck the sensor for it behind the flap for the clock, which allows the signal from the remote to pass thru just fine. since i had an empty din slot, i went back to the junkyard and scored a pocket/cupholder from some random older nissan. had to do quite a bit of modifying in order to make it actually work correctly, but it turned out pretty clean.

also swapped out the cluster, unfortunately it's one from an automatic (only one i could find at the time) .. did manage to transplant over my speedo/odometer to the new one, so mileage is still spot on. i recently picked up a manual cluster, but that isn't ready to go in yet.. working on a sweet little mod for it first. should be pretty damn slick, and definitely one i haven't seen yet.

and this is the latest addition.. scored it from the junkyard for $10. when i get some free time at work, i'll be mounting it with the same threaded inserts i used for the roof rack. need to paint it first tho..

so yeah.. that's where i'm at for now. thanks for checking it out, and stay tuned for more awesomeness =]
MaXXuS

nice man, lots of good potential on a nice body, welcome!
mr.$ed@n$ki

Hey man, Welcome.

Keep up the good work you're doing. Wink
Looking nice, i'm curious for the next things you're on!
droopy128

I like the update on the steering wheel, which model it came from? and is it a direct fit or do you need to do any mod.
ef_newb

thanks guys, it's definitely coming along

yeah.. forgot to mention the wheel. it's from a (3rd?) gen prelude.. at first my knuckles hit the wiper/light levers, but i whipped up a 1/2" spacer to fix that. only problem is that doing so made the horn non-functional.. gotta figure out something else for that.

Welcome looks like your off to a good start.
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Welcome.

i need them cup holders lol
nice findings my local junkyard is no good all efs are stripped down to the max but u gave me an idea  ama loook for sum cup holders of sum random car
ef_newb

another sweet junkyard find.. came out of an old jag. had to bore out the aluminum sleeve in the center, then tap it to honda specs. bonus, i now have a tap the right size so i can make a shift knob out of anything.. lol

Knob reminds me of ron burgandy and the panther cologne... I like whenever I get a add a tool to the tool box.. And like the knob

Very nice sedan man coming along great and different looking
ef_newb

shoes!!!

panasport reps (not ballin like some of you guys.. lol) 15x7.5 +10 .. nexen 175/50r15's

gives them a mild stretch, but nothing too crazy. just gotta get my fenders rolled so i can put them on
mr.$ed@n$ki

Really nice rims, they got big polished rim edges, like em man!
Stretched perfectly, nah like to much either.
Good job dude!
ef_newb

thanks man.. that 3" lip is what closed the deal for me. soooo sick!
EFjt

Those wheels look great!!! Can't waut to see them on the EF!
89 LX SOHC ZC

Cant wait to see the new shoes installed.
ef_newb

slow day at work, so i tossed some more parts on..

first off, my wink.. didn't want to ditch my visors so i made some brackets to hold it farther forward. no more blind spots for this guy =] .. just need to get some stickers and bomb it

next was the center console i snagged this weekend from an accord.. it was from a maroon interior, so i took it apart and painted the plastics with krylon fusion satin black. stuff adheres soooo well to plastic bits without a ton of prep. the pad is currently sitting in a bucket of dye, and i picked up some new foam as well since the last stuff just crumbled to oblivion. i'll post pics of that when i get it all put back together again. but for now, i finally have somewhere to keep my change! haha

and that's it for the day.. you stay classy san diego!
ef_newb

lug nuts arrived, so i borrowed my bud's roller tonight and hit the fenders.. wheels on bitches!!

<3 that lip!

now i need moar low.. lol
MaineEf

looks awesome bro lovin your sedan, i am ordering my wink but never had one before, did you mount those vertical brackets to the ones from the visors? could you add a pic of the mount
EFjt

Wheels look hella fresh on the sedan!
89 LX SOHC ZC

Wheels look sweet.
debow

what year accord did you the the center console out of?
EF Sedan Enthusiast

It's amazing how wheels can change everything.  Looking good dude.

sorry i missed this.. didn't check the tag, but it was the 90-93 bodystyle. out of the dozens of accords i've checked, this was the only one equipped with it tho. guessing it's a bit rare

and since i'm here.. a couple daylight pics.

and then my sweet ass gas door.. stickerbombs are cool, but i prefer to draw my stuff myself.

yeah.. pretty baller Wink haha
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Looking good dude.
4dred6

needs more low  Smile
ef_newb

i know right? gotta go have my exhaust redone first.. it catches on everything now as is. think i'm gonna run a twin pipe setup to get more clearance. stupid roads around here suuuuuck

good thing i just had that done a few months ago
ef_newb

couple pics from the h-t meet ..

decided to throw some paint pens on the cowl so people could tag up the mismatched panels. was pretty fun, and met some cool people doing it.

EF Sedan Enthusiast

That's pretty cool.
ef_newb

yeah.. been thinkin I might buy a junkyard hood every year and hang them on the wall in my garage. could be kinda cool, and I wouldn't have to worry about finding a flawless hood
Doctor Tease

I've seen your car around the site, and I honestly think it's one of my favorites here.  And that gas door looks awesome, good job on that sir.  May I ask what you used to paint it?
ef_newb

thanks .. drew it on with sharpie first, then colored them in with some paint markers from Michael's craft store. they were the cheaper ones there.. also found some walmart that I took to the meet.
Doctor Tease

How well has that held up to the elements?
ef_newb

faded quite a bit.. I plan on redoing it again and then giving a coat of clear to see if that helps. not a big deal as it'll give me something to do while watching tv.. lol
jaseum

did your dash and doors all come that color and that clean? mine has a few small cracks in the doors and i want to paint them a darker blue than they are but i am very new to anything like that and could use the help sir
ef_newb

yeah, original black interior.. everything was in really good shape except for a few tiny tears on my driver's rear door right under the door pull cup. been looking for  a replacement, but manual black interiors are hard to come by in the yards up here. most of the cars are blue or burgandy.

the armrest was burgandy tho.. painted that with krylon fusion paint. stuff works awesome on plastics without a whole lot of prep needed.
1RONM4N

lip, luggage rack and two tone paint looks beast also nice ride height.... although always been a fan of legit wheels btw is that luggage rack oem ef???
ef_newb

yeah, scored the rack at one of my local yards for cheap.. had never seen one before so i had to have it.

as for the wheels, i agree.. i normally buy better, but decided i cared more about the lip and offset on these. also have future plans for these that would make people cry if i had real panasports. lol

or i'll end up selling this one and building a different one.. who knows. gotten quite a few offers lately and am contemplating letting her go. i dunno..

very nice. How much your shoes.
ef_newb

wheels and tires were $700 out the door
MattyJ

are those legit ef round fogs with no grommets? if not what kind of fogs are they?

MattyJ
ef_newb

fogs are from an older lexus.. wanna say es300?
EFjt

Where did you purchase your tires?...Im thinking about running tht size
ef_newb

started working on another retro mod today.. i'll let the pics do the talking

and then the part this is being built for..

4dred6

Haha nice, that's a nice touch.
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Bad ass mod dude  Twisted Evil
ef_newb

thanks guys.. never use my vents anyway, so decided to do something different with them. the clock came out of a 79 accord i found at the yard the other day. got some other odds and ends that will be worked in as well
89 LX SOHC ZC

Nice work man. Very Happy
mr.$ed@n$ki

Original thing man, really dope.
But does it still fit?
Do you got pics mounted?
ef_newb

Still need to find a mesh piece to fit, but it pops in just fine

Choocko

What front lights are those. and are they plug and play?
ef_newb

the fogs are from an older lexus es300.. most definitely NOT plug and play. lol..

took me a good 5-6 hours to get those damn things in there.. but on the plus side, they only set me back like $5 from the junkyard compared to the billions people want for OEM ones
ef_newb

next retro mod done.. cluster from same 79 accord

and lit up at night (shaky pic as i snapped it real quick while driving to show it was working)

def NOT a plug and play mod.. had to extensively mod both the cluster itself (involved cutting out quite a bit of the plexi front, and reshaping the housing) and the ef's shroud.
4dred6

Looks very good
