Hi i'm newb to honda engines so i was wondering if any one can help me.

I have a d14a1 fully stock and i trying to find out if a d16z6 head will fit my d14a1.
Type-S EF

I would do a swap, 1.4 isnt much to work with.  The intake manifold ports and cams were designed, and ECU programed for 1.6 liters displacement.  The injection system used on all backwards spinning hondas don't use a mass air flow sensor, so it is relying on the fact it knows how much air should be in the engine because of the size of it.  It of course can adjust itself based on how rich or lean the oxygen sensor says it is, but not a whole lot untill it thinks something is wrong.

But to answer your question, it will bolt on.

Any P28 can be made to work, even if its for an automatic.  If you have skills soldering.

Well lyk b4 i said that i was doin a swap okay a d16z6 in my 89 civic sedan dx but now everything is in but when i turn it over it starts up and stays on for about 15 seconds then starts/tries to turn off by itself like starts to sputter any no why If so Please Help ....Thanks in advance

What injectors are you using and are your using a resistor box?

the obd0 injectors and i do have a resistor box ....and the injetors are working fine ...i had the obd0 intake mainfold but i just bought a obd1 manifold the one that the engine calls for so hopefully that will b my problem ---------------but ne more suggetions would b googd tho 2 thatnks in advance

Okay the car still isnt staying on when i tuned the key it starts but will idle okay but then just shutoff or sumtymes dont even turn back on and the spark plugs are gettin soaked and i keep switching them but the car will just soak them again ........................really need help

the whole problem

a d16z6 in my 89 civic sedan dx i got the the harness converted for the motor..i have the right dizzy and everything for the swap including the ecu, jumperharness,dizzy adapter,resistor box,everything for the swap but everytime i turn the car over it will start but then shut off after a couple of seconds..After 2 or 3 trys the plugs are so we that they wont spark no more ...So i gotta keep changing them..Then when the car is on for those couple of second i tried giving it gas but it stalls out lyk sputters...i have a d15b intake manifold on there i dont know if thats makes a difference on the d16z6 head , cause of the map sensor on top.....The timing is set right....Oh and i have 0bd0 injectors on it to Could any one give me some help had the car for about 6 months and still cant drive it for that reason...it has everything brand new including batt,starter,main stuff like that ....Sorry for writing so mush but this is a major problem im having

Are the injectors from like a b16 or a prelude or something? they sound too big to me, but cant say ive run into this problem, could be that maybe you have the wrong regulator and your fuel pressure is too high.  There are different regulators for vtec and non vtec, and i forgot how to identify them.

Well the regulator i have is the skinny one that shape like a  twinky..But  i tried the other one 2 the one that looks like a little amp with like the little fins in it and it did the same thing just started and stayed idlelin fine i got happy but then sputtered and shut off the same way..u think i should get the intake mainfold that the engine calls for the d16z6 one just in case..

You've converted to mpfi and obd1?  What ECU are you running?  It sounds like your injectors are staying open and feeding to much gas, thus the running then sputter then shutting off leaving them soaked.  Did you do all of the wiring yourself and if so, how confident are you?  List out exactly what you're using for the conversion.

Well got the wiring done,yes its converted and i spent 300 on two harnesses cause i thought 1 wasnt working then got it wired by a legit person... he dosnt knoe wat it is either and his always doin swaps ...Anyways i got engine harness, 95 si dizzy,cap nd rotor resister box ,p28 ecu,jumper harness from obd1 to obd0 everything exept my injectors that came with the motor are from a older car and the intake manifold so the injectors and the manifold are obd0 ..U think that could be the problem......
