Civic Sedan UK Build

Hi im lewis recently purchased my Honda sedan. First jap car ive owned been looking for around 2 years now for one.

Brought  the car fully standard 91k on the clock, theres a few dents here and there and some rust that needs looking at so will get to that eventually.

Going to give it a service this weekend so gave the bay a quick clean up before hand.

1st task is to get it sitting right stuck for choice between coils/air/hydro  any advice would be great help to cheers.

I already have a pair for Borbet D's so going to try them on and see how they fit. Also found a set of 25mm spacers lying about so might give them ago then work out how much to roll the arches.

wheel size are 14x9 and 14x8 so could be interesting..

looking for black interior door cards seats ect is this available as ive not actually seen any ?
FlatTireRacer

Very nice! That bay cleaned up well! Can't wait to see those wheels mounted!!

Could any one recommend some coil overs?
And if I'm lookig for black interior what models do I need to search for ??
Cheers

Welcome to the site.. Can't wait to see what you do with this car..  Laughing

Most of the times I see them on 90-91 red dx models. I could be wrong
But those are the ones I've seen with black interior.
webbs1990

signed up to some breakers yards  just encase interior turns up,

can any one recommend some half decent coil overs ??

looking into these just 05 - 1.75 inches from stock height doesnt seem that much. have been reading up on extended top hats to just no sure how to go about them.

I know the black interior exist on the lx/ex, I've seen it somewhere, but it's rare. most of the black interior is dx with manual windows

this guy has the black interior: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPXL1-Neok8
EF Sedan Enthusiast

The red DX or LX offered the black interior.

Is the lx only come left hand drive ?
4dred6

the sedan came in

DX manual windows/locks
LX power              ||
EX power              ||   and fuel injection 1.6 also larger brakes

And yes all LHD here in the US. I think you guys have the GL model over there

The GL didn't come with black interior however.

The SI and 35XT had black interior, but they're hard to come by.

Update tried the wheels on today just to get an idea, haven't purchased coil overs yet so the low is photo shopped. to me 14s dont look right on it with the arch gap still a bit odd. but im going to try them again when i put the coil overs on and see if there is much difference

4dred6

I think it looks good, I mean, 15s would be better but I would rock those. Ksawi is running 14s and there s no gap between the tire and arch.  But you might not want to go that low. Maybe taller tires?
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Coilovers and a camber kit will make the wheels look perfect.
webbs1990

can any one recomend some coil overs?? been reading up about top hats for extra lows to??
4dred6

Most lowering springs will lower you 1.5 to 2in

As for the coil overs, I've heard Ground Control are awesome.
Lots of people use koni shocks (yellow) with the GC coil overs and top hats

I myself have some aftermarket shocks (stagg) with cut springs and extended top hats.
89 LX SOHC ZC

I don't think it looks to bad.
webbs1990

not going to go mad on the price as i eventually want hydros

what would people think on these?

4dred6

Idk, these are cheaper

A lot of people like them

Top hats wont make you go any lower, it's just for extra shock travel.

The people who say it does make you go lower were sitting on the shocks bump stops (weight of the car wasn't on the springs), and by putting top hats on it releases the weight off of the bump stops and lets the car settle back on its springs.

My friend installed those into his CB, the ride was brilliant (you couldn't tell it was lowered) and it went super low, seemed like a really good value coilover. I don't have any experience with them in ED's though if someone else can chime in.

I do and they're awesome.

NEW PARTS!

So ive been waiting for the last few weeks now for parts finally turned up in the last two days.

Coil overs took some of your advice and went for FUNCTION & FORM F2 TYPE 1 FULL COILOVER . cost me more then i thought tho as the tax man raped me when they hit cutsoms. All worth it in the end.

Fell in love with this Nardi wheel on driftworks so it had to be done.
Also purchased the gear knob as the current one is a bit worn.

Simoni racing boss kit

hopefully after lowering it i can decide if im going to keep the wheels.

Next plan, few bits of interior need cleaning up and on the hunt for some new bumpers/wings
4dred6

This is gonna be sick, can't wait.
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Yeah, paying duties sucks.  You'll love them though and I think the wheels will look great once the stance is right.

That wheel & knob combo is SICK  Twisted Evil
89 LX SOHC ZC

Nice stuff man.
webbs1990

car has been lowered now and pleased with the results of the coil overs. pics will be up soon.
As for wheels i put the borbets on and the only way they would fit is with 25mm spacers and the poke on that was unreal.
To me they didnt sit right on the car so going to look for some 15x8.

just wondering if any one can recomend a decent front lip, ive seen a few about with the mk3 golf but looks to big for me not sure what the one in the main picture is on the page???

Also rear bumper question ive seen one or two with smaller square number plates recess , such as the crx rather. just wondering how easy are these to find or make fit?? as i rather buy then chop up two bumpers to make this happen.

There might be a European model with a narrow plate, but i only know of the JDM rear bumpers having the smaller recess. Mine has the smaller recess and it's a pain in the ass!

Look for a 88-93 Integra front lip.

pic update

im slacking on getting pics up so heres a few new ones.
finally got the coils on, wasnt a bad change over atall. happy with the result hopefully with a splitter will look a bit more even.  the borbets have gone to a new home. looking for some 15s at the moment have a few in mind but im keeping quiet at the moment.

quick pic trying the borbets on.

had a mess around with the interior to, first time using vinyl wrap, and the results came out half decent. im keeping the stock tape player in the console and going to re route the wires into the glove box and hiding a cd player in there. to keep it looking kind of clean on the console rather then all this wood then a flash cd player.

took it out for a spin around the block to test the coils.

small update

got hold of a new stereo finally. decided that i want to keep the original tape player in the center console just to keep it looking simple, so relocated the new stereo into the glove box. only problem was a normal size stereo wouldn't fit, so purchased half the size one which fits perfect.

EF Sedan Enthusiast

Awesome!

webbs1990

i was originally going to go black but have changed my mind, its not going to be the same color but im hoping it should work with the interior and wheels and keep the retro looking
