Check out what I scored!

Got these today for 55 bucks! The guy drove the car with the tranny. It's from a 91 crx and has shorter gears than his dx gearset he said. The flywheel is stock but only has 5k on it. Pretty good deal I think especially if it's an si gearset. I'd like to know how to put it in first out of the car to do the final drive test on . Just need a clutch now and I'll be rolling again!

Awesome pickup dude and for $55 thats a steal youll be rolling in no time. Just so you can be positive if it's an si transmission or for future reference look at only the casting code NOT the sticker it should say either PL3-3000,PL3-6000,PL3-9000,PL3-B000.

Well shit it's a0000. :/

Nice pick up even if its not an SI tranny at least you can get her on the road again.

Yea this is true. Kinda bummed but oh well. So much cheaper than anything else. It's missing the oil filler bolt but I'll just get that from my busted tranny. If my car has an si box I wonder how hard it would be to swap final drives. Meh oh well.
HondaJunkie

That kinda sucks but its not a big deal man for all you know it might just need new bearings and a clutch and you can reuse your si tranny and sell the other.
jmanwantsboost

I guess I'll find out soon. I hope it isn't as bad as it sounds.
HondaJunkie

Youll be good it's pretty straight forward stuff. Once it warms up for more then a day I can replace mine and ill make a video just not doing it in 30 degrees lol.
jmanwantsboost

Damn it's still cold af out there. I'm so glad it's been in the 50's the last few days. Glad I scored this tranny on the cheap. My car needs tires so bad. The sidewalls have cracks and one is starting to develop a bulge. I'll be going to the used tire shop asap for some steelies and matching rubber.
HondaJunkie

Well it was nice today and will be tommarow but then it snows again. Yea might not be a bad idea to pickup some all seasons for summer cruises.

Nice pick up, that's what I always sell my d series tranny s for, don't
matter if it's an SI dx or whatever.  But yea ppl are getting a bit too crazy
With prices. There s an SI on CL for $300. WTF!!!
jmanwantsboost

No kidding. Saw an si for 150 and it had a stripped thread for a motor mount

Man that's a score!! Sorry I didnt text back bro I got busy with my son.
I'm thnking it's a ZC tranny bro...
jmanwantsboost

But it doesn't have the casting stamp. Idk. If I knew how to put it into first I could see the final drive. Anyone know how?
EF4lyf3

Screwdriver into the shift connector where the pin goes, twist into first and pull
EF4lyf3

And how would you check the final drive that way? I don't know how to that's y. Oh and when you trying to go into first, pull the the throw out bearing lever at the same time
FlatTireRacer

Put a phillips head screw driver in the hole for the expasion pin on the backside of the  tranny. Insert it handle up. From the rear of the tranny facing forward, that would put the bell housing on your left. Rotate the handle to the right and pull back. If you rotate the input shaft at the same time it'll give less chance to mess up the sychro's.

This link shows a diagram on determining final drive that way.
EF4lyf3

Sweet! That really helped
jmanwantsboost

Yea. I'm sure it's just a standard tranny.
jmanwantsboost

So I did the test I'm positive it's standard but the tranny in my car Carries the same A0000 stamp so it was never an si. I had an encounter with an si hatch in my accord and it was hard to catch although I wasn't racing, not he.
