buddy and i working on a track EF

so my buddies and i are working on a strictly track EF. we wanted to see if we can take the RT4WD tranny and swap that into a hatch.

Well...we couldn't find everything...just about done...then we couldn't find any rear axles that'd fit. anyone know any that will fit with mild or no modification? we tried grinding down some axles from other EFs and and even found some from the wagon but they didn't fit either.

You're looking for rear axles? And you couldn't get rt4wd wagon axles to fit into the rt4wd rear dif?

oh nvm, we tried using front axles from the fwd. then we tried to modify them to work on the rt4wd rear diff, but it didn't work =/. and the rt4wd are RARE and almost IMPOSSIBLE to find here in Sacramento =/. sad day... :'[

Ah yeah, they're smaller than the front axles.  You can't just purchase them from a driveshaft place? Most places around where i live are able to get them in. RT4wd's are rarer here, trust me (they were only sold for a year before being axed from production)

unfortunately they charge you up the butt for em. like a good 120+ per and a lot of them are even kinda rusted out or incomplete. i guess that really would be our only option right?

Yep, unfortunately.

Why would they be rusted out though? If you're getting them from a drive shaft shop they should look new. If they handed me some rusty incomplete POS i'd hand it straight back to them.
