Brake Lights Sticking...

Hello, I'm actually borrowing my friend's 89 Sedan(hopefully going to inherit it), anyways, one of the little bugs it has, is that the brake lights will get stuck on after the brakes have been applied.  I can adjust the pedal with my foot, by pushing it up and down, and playing with it until they go off.  But its bothersom to have to check to make sure they're off when I park, so I don't drain the battery.  So if anyone has pointers how to fix this bug let me know.  Thanks.

There is a little plastic thing at the base of the brake pedal that is broken off.  .the dealership has these things. . mine has broken off like three times.  .it is plastic and just breaks over time.  . Look at your floor board, you should see some little plastic pieces.
They will know exactly what it is if you bring it in. ..

Seems like it was a common honda issue. .

How I fix this problem is use a 10mm bolt and nut one of the slightly longer ones and slide it in and tighten it down.Make sure the nut and the threaded side is facing the seats so it operates correctly. You will never have this problem again period!.

I have replaced all the ones on my ef's the first day I get them instead of waiting for it to happen when im not prepared.
