Boston EF Project

I'm a rapidly aging "young professional" who has always liked the tuner scene. I have a few friends that are Honda tech's so I have a fondness for the Honda crowd. A few years ago, I hit a spell of bad luck and needed a cheap car quickly. I picked up a nightmare '89 lx that has gradually become a fun little project. No longer my daily driver, I can't justify dumping the car for small money because I have been through a lot with it. Some of the cars on this site have inspired me to give it some more attention and get back to having some fun with it.  I have put a few bucks into getting it "road-worthy" but I would like to give it a little more style and zip as a second ride. Thanks for any tips.

New breathing system...

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes. I appreciate the picture fix. I was hoping that I could some input on how to help the ol' gal breathe better. Eventually, I would like to keep it street legal with the potential of a pavement/dirt fwd/4cyl rally ride. I read a lot of people getting custom bent 2.5" exhausts and others working with hatch systems with extensions. I definitely don't want a high-pitched exhaust. I prefer lower, throaty sound. Also, what are the pro's/con's of cold air vs. short ram air intakes and what are your recommendations?

Also- upgrading the fuel injection... Necessary? How helpful? How labor-intensive?

Thanks!

Welcome to the site!

Thermal R&D exhaust.

Short ram or cold air same thing to me.
If you plan to rally I would go with a
Comptech air box.

You definitely need to convert your car
To mpfi.  You will instantly gain around
15hp. But this will help you gain hp easily
EF4lyf3

CONFIRMED^. And its not a hard mod, you just need alittle common sence, some heat shrink and soldering gun!

MPFI conversion

Has anyone found a good MPFI conversion video or picture-detailed process?  Also, what am I looking at for a cost?  Thanks.
89CivicSi

dependin on ur sources for parts \ is gonna depend on cost, but ill see if I still have the write up I used to convert mine to mpfi. I paid 100 for a complete swap out of a 91crx si for mine, so like I said search ur area good.
