Are 88-89 Trunk lids different from 90-91?

Ok so I found a really good deal for a trunk lid for $10 but the girl who owns it doesn't know what year it's from. So what I was wondering is can I use any year trunk lid for my 89 or is there anyway for me to tell by looking at it which year it might have been from or do I have to try it on Rolling Eyes

i do beleive that if the trunk lid garnish has the reverse lights in it, it is a 90-91. if not it is a 88-89.

You can use it but the is a little difference when it comes to the reverse light...the center garnish will fit but the may need to be some "massaged" in... I'm sure someone else can chime in in detail with picks

Alright cool well I might pick this up then thanks for the help.

88-89 guys can use 90-91 trunk lids no problem, but 90-91 guys will need to cut out the blanks to fit reverse lights.

Alright cool thanks I just put the trunk lid on tonight actually. It fits fine but the only thing that is different is I have a large gap where the trunk almost touches the back window so im not sure what the deal with that is so ill have to rock it till I can find another 88-89.

Sounds like something wrong with the hinge, or the way you've bolted it to the hinge. Does the panel look damaged?
HondaJunkie

The hinge could possibly be bent but it didn't look like it when I inspected it. I had the hinges up as if the trunk was open and I installed it that way hope that's ok it seemed to work fine. Ill take a better look tommarow and mess with it.
