aftermarket swaybarsanyone have any experience with aftermarket sway bars? anyone know what kits fit sedans? The only sway bars i found were from progress and suspension techniques. it said they were for our generation civics just not sure if they would fit the sedans. I read the write up on installing the civic/crx rear, if anything it should be almost like that..

should be exactly like the writeup you saw.. only with the aftermarket swaybar instead of the stock Si one

I bought the civic hb si swaybar and lca rear setup on ebay for 50$ shipped. i havent installed it yet, but it looks pretty straightforward. I hope it reduces roll in the rear.

I have a different opinion on it...
our Cdans don't have any stability at high speed, hence the wobbling when lane changing so quickly. So any kind of clamping down on it would make bit of difference. at least 40-50% instead of 0.
Good luck with the install. I wish I had a set up.

no stability at high speed? how do you figure? my sedan has plenty of stability at any speed. plus, it has a longer wheel base, which would aid in stability at any speed.
maybe you have a suspension/steering/alignment issue, cuz I can play zip-zaps thru traffic as good as anyone else at high speed.
just a thought...

There are lots on Egay. I have a Megan Racing, works nice. Cheap too (as compared with the name brands). Of course, my handling isn't the shit. but after some Tokico blues things should be buttoned down, or Tein if I can afford it.

sure the car is stable in a straight line..I'm talking extreme lane changing without the car stepping out so much...
As far as I know the EX's have them. I have an EX I don't know the diameter but its a decent size...would like to have front and rear 22mm tho

doing 100mph+ gets really scary imo
this week i'm installing a swaybar rear to stop it rolling... never had that problem with my old EF8, and it's exactly the same suspension except for swaybar rear that is missing right now

sway bars stop the rolling but do the sizes matter much?

the stiffer the rear, the higher likely you are to have oversteer...

is that good or bad

I have a suspension techniques rear sway on my car, install was easy enough and it works great. All the Sedans came with a front bar, i switched mine out for a HF front bar cause its a little smaller, small bar in the front, big bar in the back, it feels great!

thanks liquid! i was looking at the suspension techniques bar too. did you change your lower control arms to si ones to fit? and do you think that bar will clear the dc lower tie bar? because i have one on there just want to kno if it interferes.

The ST bar will work with any control arms as it connects at the bolt where the shock connects to the control arm, and it should not interfer with any tie bar.

how big is the st bar?

thanks for anwering my question liquid. props to u. if you could would you be able to post pics of it? cause in the diy write up they were mentioning that you needed to change to the civic si lca's and drill holes to bolt it up to your trunk.

if you really need some pics i should be able to get some, but its really a simple install. That write up is for a stock SI bar onto a non-Si. The ST bar does not require Si control arms or any drilling. The bushings bolt to brackets that come with the bar, the brackets bolt to the frame where the rear tow hooks go, so the holes are already there. The kit even comes with all the bolts, nuts, washers you will need.
I think the ST bar is a 22mm and adjustable.

that sounds pretty sweet, but how much does it cost? I ended up doing the si bar and lca's for $10 from the junk yard. and you can buy polyurethane bushings for them too.

The ST rear kit is $130 from summitracing.com its comes with poly bushing and spherical endlinks. It is well, well worth it IMO.

that is awesome. this is exactly the info i was lookin for. thanks for your help! if you can pics are nice. props to liquid!
