91 ef sedan brake upgrade?

I have a 91 ef sedan base model dx.
I am looking for a brake upgrade useing the stock spindles....did the si's have a larger rotor/caliper combo.....

if it's not that easy then please recommend a good pad.

I can get brembo blanks for cheap, and I have used the PBR organic deluxe pads in the passed with OK results...anything better for agressive street/mountain driving?

I don't want to use a semi met pad due to the rotor wear and heat transfer to the caliper.

any input is appreciated

thanks

I had the understanding that the DA front brakes required the 91 civic EX sedan front knuckles, and that the DA knuckles screwed with the caster too much.

The DA rear disk brake swap is a good one. I think that your main focus is the fronts for now, correct?

I have a DX as well, and was thinking along the same lines as you. I'll measure my CRX (its an Si) rotors and let you know.

The EX has the bigger rotors up front, the DX and LX have smaller ones.

You could go with a total replacement from the civic to the DA susp. as they bolt right up nicely.

do the ex calipers mount to the same holes on the knuckles as the dx and lx calipers?
Type-S EF

Si had smaller brakes, and big brake parts dont bolt to small brake spindals

I made some brakets and got to put whatever caliper on whatever rotor on my DX spindals, i redrilled NSX rotors and am working out the caliper brakets right now (an expensive route) i have about 700 invested in Goodridge lines, R1 crossdrilled and slotted rotors, pads and red powder coated calipers.

But i get 2 piston calipers on a 1.1" thick 11" round rotor in the front, and a .83" thick 11" round vented rotor in the rear, and i get to keep a parking brake.

I do have CRX Si rear trailing arms though. and i havent figured out the hand brake cable yet, because they pull the oposite way of the CRX. I'll share my findings.

yea i agree that the da swap is the most straight foward way to go its a direct bolt on
