89lx w/b16a

So for a little background on my car... I have a 89 sedan and it was already swapped with a b16a. It was a car rescued cause it was about to get sent to the scrap yard. When i traded my 97 grand cherokee for it, it still needed some work. now for the good. The motor had been swapped in and was running. it was pulled from a car that was in a violent rollover(we will get to this later). The bad.  When i got the car, it had no front seats, some neuspeed front drop springs and a stamped steel rear contol arm on the left side and a cast on the right, , a 90 white front bumper and a 90 white trunk to replace the fubar'd lid. guy i got it from did paint the engine bay and tucked the wiring that ran along the fenders.

this is how she sat when i decided to get her. (the crx wheel did not come with the deal)

this was a pic of the bay before it grenaded itself.(ill get to that later)
stormdrop

it ran for about 4 days then started knocking. i took the pan off and #1 rod had done this

inspected the crank, not a scratch(suprisingly), the rod checked out as well. so makes you wonder.
stormdrop

since it is a lx, all the chrome trim was peeling and ugly. so i taped them off and painted them all dupli-color trim black. looks much much better.

the tape up

forgot to snap a pic directly after, but here is one of the side after it was done
[/img]
stormdrop

After i painted all the trim, and swaped out the mis-matching control arms with some cheap ebay gold arms(they where a gift cant pass down free), and some struts that a buddy had laying around so i can have matching ones. The car ran for 2 days, and knocked agian. Took the pan off agian and same thing #1 rod. So the engine was going to get pulled and the suspension work started.
the car already had a front strut tower bar with a neuspeed sticker on it and a cheap lower tie bar on the rear when i got it.

list of suspension stuff and related items
f&f type 1's
full energy suspension bushing kit
a manual steering rack and outer tie-rods (it has no ps provisions)
blox spherical trailing arm bearings (gold)
blox rear camber adjusters
skunk2 uca's (front)
moog lower ball joints
89 crx si rear control arms (these were found after egay arm install. didnt like ebay arms and i will add a sway bar later)
new rear wheel bearings
all new rear brakes from wheel cylinders, hardware, shoes, drums
everthing was cleaned and painted with vht suspension epoxy paint.
prothane rear camber arm bushings(was upset the energy kit didnt have these.)
innovative traction bar
stormdrop

since i had a white bumper and wasnt going to do a full paint job soon, i decided to paint the bumpers trim black to match the trim on the windows, and make it not look like a lx. also in the mix i just couldn't deal with my replacement white trunk lid on a gray/silver car, so one drunkin' afternoon me and my uncle had a great idea. Now i know some die-hard honda enthusiasts will flame away on what we done, but hey it turned out good. What did we do? We turned my trunk lid into a jap flag. yes sir.

the canvas

the mask job. the sun was still honda related, we took my uncles da wheel cover and decided thats how big the sun needed to be. lol

after the spray (this is tractor paint, since i worked at a caseih, new holland dealer)

tada my drunkin' idea beauty

on car
stormdrop

i guess i wasnt thinking, but i only have 3 pictures of my suspension adventures. One of it on jackstands, the broken bolt, and the finished left rear wheel area.

it lived on these stands for a while

this bolt was cross-threaded and broke before it came out. (DO NOT EVER BREAK THIS BOLT). it is a 10.9 grade and i drilled and tried to use and easy out on this, it broke off inside the bolt. Ever tried to drill out an easy out bit. IMPOSSIBLE.

its purdy. lol
4dred6

Nice progress man. Love what you've  done to it.
89 LX SOHC ZC

Nice work man.

Bay looks nice.
EF Sedan Enthusiast

It's come a long way.  The trunk is neat.  What wheels do you have now?  Looking forward to what you make of this sedan.
stormdrop

the wheels i have for it are rota ck racing 15x7 wrapped in 195/50's dunlop dz101's.

the car now has da teg seats on modified ef seat rails. i did find out however that a manual steering rack will bolt up in the correct place (on the box), but is smaller in diameter for the clamp and bushing. so i used my energy suspension bushing for the  manual rack, then took the larger factory bushing off the power rack and put around it, so it is double thick bushing. lol The clamp tightened up and rack is sturdy, hoping though since it has two bushings around it, it raised the rack up on the right side about 1/8th inch. once i get it up and driving agian ill see if it is drivable that way. so im on the lookout for a ef crossmember that had factory non-power steering. And in BFE west ky, honda stuff is hard to come by. lol
4dred6

Nice wheels. You ll be fine with the steering rack. That's the way I did it.

Can I have permission to spread this to the sedans out here in Vegas? Don't wanna bite your style but this into sick not to do, I'm gonna do this in black and brown if granted
Jerseys_fyn3st

great progress, im.interested to know how you got out that bolt you broke? thats the camber bolt correct? how you get it out and new one in =) ..

sure, not really sure what you plan on  stealing, but yes. lol

i will eventually when the car gets running and driving correctly it will be repainted the stock gray or whatever color it is. lol

AAhhh, the bastard bolt as i call it. lol i tried to drill it and remove it with an easy-out, but my gung ho father said he wanted a go at it (since i couldn't get it to budge with the easy-out), and twisted the easy-out off in the already 10.9 grade bolt. Just a little note, an easy-out is harder than a 12.9 grade drill bit can handle. so out came the cornwell air hammer and propane torch. in the end the bolt never did budge. the spot welds that held the nut inside the frame broke. so out came the drill. i drilled thru the frame rail and found a 10.9 grade bolt that would pass thru the frame rail. then i found a bushing/sleeve that was as wide as the frame rail and fit the bolt, drilled out the frame rail to accomidate the sleeve. On the back side of the frame rail i took a 2"x2" 1/8" thick piece of steel and tacked it on so the bolt had some thickness to pull against. i also used a fender washer off of a 88 monte carlo. it was a 2"o.d. washer with correct size bolt hole, nylon locknut, and red lock tight.
stormdrop

tada, the warped powerplant has been removed.

oh, what is this, an early xmas present to me, by me, for me. i beleive it is. a jdm b16a sirI from hmotors.com (it arrived 2 days before xmas). btw it takes almost a month to get a crate of something from cali to west ky.

yes yes, more presents yes.

i actually installed this the other day, and it was easy. the only problem i see is, it looks like my crank pulley might me having a fight with it. Now i dont know for sure, since i havent got the new motor dropped in yet, but it doesnt look like its going to clear being super slammed as i plan to be or should i say am going to be. lol
stormdrop

well this post isnt really part of the build what so ever, but my other rides are gettin jelly of all attention the ef is getting. lol

this is my 91 yj, doing some showing off at turkey bay ohv park, in Land between the Lakes in west ky.

ahh, my first true love, my first car. 92 firebird. she is in a full resto mode relaxing nicely in the barn for her turn in the garage. she been a tough 'ol bird.
4dred6

What motor mounts are u using? I had place racing on mine with a B17
which is the same thing as  the B16 and the crank pulley rubbed. And I
wasn't even slammed. Stock crossmember too. Now I have hasport
Mounts and I'm lower then ever, they raise the engine a bit. And I love
Them. I also got a CTR pulley. But I think if I still had the stock one it
Wouldnt rub.
stormdrop

N-E- Ways, now back to the civic. lol since Jeremy (guy i go the car from), put a 90 front bumper on it, the trim area of the bumper doesnt match the rest of the trim(except for the left rear door, it has a 90/91 molding), or rear bumper. so my debate is to try and find a 90 rear bumper and buy all new 90 newer trim or buy the 89 older trim for the left rear door, and source a 89 older bumper?

next i need advice on how to paint material. since i now have nice da teg front seats, ( of the light and dark gray variety), the rest of the car has most of the factory gray interior, but the back seat has been pulled from 2 cars, the bottom cushion is blue and the back cushion and side bolster things are light tan, and mud stained so it looks for some reason. (these what was in the car when i got it.) i have cleaned and shampooed them, but they dont match. So can anyone give me pointers on how to  paint or dye seats? i have used carped paint before on carpets and turned out nice, but never on seats. opinions and or idea's are much appreciated on this one  fella's.  Very Happy

i was told by the guy i got it from, that it has innovative mounts. i have examined them, and looked at innovative's website and they look like a match. they have black inserts so according to the site they are the "track" 75a. Im about 90% sure on this cause i didnt have much give and it shook the dash real good at idle, and very little motor rock.
stormdrop

progress will be slow for a while for the sedan. I started a new job working midnights,(man this is going to take some time getting used to), and also due to the fact my heater for the garage decided to sh*t out on me. Not fun working in 20ish degree weather.

I did however score a innovative b-swap shift linkage that was missing the shift swivel(i think thats what you call it), for 20, bucks.  Very Happy i see on there site you can buy a replacement shift swivel for 50 bucks, so ill save a little bit of coin over a new one. im hoping next week i can go to a local junk yard and try to score some better door panels. once i get time ill snap some pics of my interior (it needs help) and get some ideas from you guys.
89 LX SOHC ZC

Good luck with the new job and congrats on the linkage sucks about the heater though.

Depending on what part of the crank pulley is fouling you could  get a single belt aftermarket pulley (no p/s or AC). Or run a Honda EK n1 crank pulley (also single belt).
4dred6

Yep I have a EK9 N1 pulley myself
stormdrop

ive read of conflicting stories of the ctr pulley. i have 2 stock b16a pulleys and a friend that works at a machine shop that owes me a favor. lol I havent dropped the motor in to see if it hits, so i dont know for sure yet.

just got home from my new job, it rocks, i build guns.  Very Happy Been a while since ive had a job i liked. Im so glad all that winter weather mess missed west ky. Man come on warm weather, im ready to get the sedan running and get more than 14mpg in my DD. (thats what the jeep gets)
stormdrop

it is finally warm enough for me to get out in the garage and work on the sedan some more. YaY. and not the gf's stupid ford focus. Never buy one of those, no matter how cheap the price is.

progress has been made. i changed the timing belt, plugs, new valve cover gasket, and pilot bearing. then realized i didnt have a clutch alignment tool. After calling all the part stores in town, i decided to make a "clutch alignment specialty tool". requires a 6" 3/8 extension and a roll of electrical tape.

since my engine did not come with a crank pulley i took the two i had (one from the engine i pulled out, other from a purchased short block) and examined them. They are different. here see
front

back

both came off of blocks stamped b16a, both had pr3 cranks. i used the one on the right that has the rubber in it.

TaDa engine and trans meet  agian.

cant wait to drop this thing in and look at the pulley/traction bar clearance.

So any idea guys about the different pulleys? the one that has the rubber in it is(right) 5.5" and the solid one is (left) 5.4".
4dred6

Maybe one is obd0 and the other obd1. Nice clutch alignment tool
stormdrop

guess what guys

it is in.  yay my uncle cranking the  mount bolt down

here enjoy some pics of the process

the happy face. lol

oh wiring, oh how i dislike you.

so my issue with the traction bar is not interfering so far. it has some clearance. i havent sat the car down on the ground yet. come to find out, my harness is botched. it has obd2 injectors, a square alt plug, and a spliced in obd1 fan switch for the thermo housing switch. cause i noticed that my new engine didnt have a sensor in the thermo housing. i did switch out the themo housings since i know it worked with that sensor.  so i studdied the blocks, and the block i pulled out is a obd1 block. man what kinda mess have i got myself into. lol

things left to do

axle seals
install axles
bleed brakes
install outer tierods
paint and replace bushings in my crx si control arms then install
attach steering column to rack
rad/fan hoses
shifter linkage(waiting on parts. part scheduled to arrive 3/21)

things needed
battery and hold down and cables
and possibly other things i cant remember. it is a never ending process.
stormdrop

thanks, when you live in BFE like me, you got to make stuff work. lol
Sancho

I'm running that traction bar with an ls in mine without any issues.

Are you slammed?
89 LX SOHC ZC

Nice progress man.
stormdrop

thanks man. hopefully this weekend i can get it finished up drivetrain wise. thursday just isnt getting here fast enough.
Jerseys_fyn3st

any info on what that traction bar is? brand? seems like 2 efers here are running with it and i need to order one asap. lmk lol link me somewhere hahaha, nice progress im dropping in a sir b16a aswell currently same exact time .

http://www.corsportusa.com/store/...?cPath=1_32&products_id=13951

it is a innovative traction bar, corsport calls it a competition bar. i paid 293 for it just like the website says, and everything on corsport is free shipping (which rocks). Now the bad, i ordered it mid december, and after i placed my order 15 min later they called me telling me they didnt not have it in stock and would have to get it from innovative. it took me almost a month to get it, but it is a nice peice and built very well. If they do not stock it and you can wait, it is worth it. corsport will keep you posted on any transaction notifications as soon as they find out. they have awesome customer support. i have ordered most of my stuff from them.
stormdrop

guess what guys

this is what was inside

so i snapped some pics of my traction bar/pulley clearance. car is still on jackstands

i took a picture of my da front seats, i would have taken a picture of the back seat, but i didnt have enough light to show you guys how hideous my muti-color rear seat is.

also today i made a trip to the parts store. bought me some heater hose since i couldnt match up what came off, had to buy some 7/16 line for the brake booster, hose was 3" too short for pr3 intake.

did get my new plugs installed today.

hopefully this weekend i can get all this stuff buttoned up and fire it up. it is supposed to be cold so not sure how much progress will be made.

oh i need some help on something. The throttle cable on the car will  not work with the pr3 throttle body. What cable are you b16 guys using with your pr3 tb's?

Are you slammed?

Lowered but definitely not slammed. It hurts when you bottom it out though, solid thud!

Where did you order that piece for the shift linkage? I hate my linkage because there's SO much play in the joint. I'm considering cutting and welding a stock piece in place.
4dred6

Sweet updates man

@sancho, i asked cuz hes planning on being low
stormdrop

Where did you order that piece for the shift linkage? I hate my linkage because there's SO much play in the joint. I'm considering cutting and welding a stock piece in place.
it is the innovative shift linkage replacement. i bought a swap linkage from a guy of vci (a local like craigslist), and i didnt notice till a few weeks later the end linkage was missing.

http://www.innovativemounts.com/P...tails.asp?ProductCode=59119-JOINT

they do not show a picture of it. this took me a little while to find.
stormdrop

made some progress today, while injuring my self. was cutting a heater hose fit and the razor knife broke, hand slipped and sliced a chunk out of my thumb.

so far today, i got my heater hoses done, brake booster line done, rerouted coolant line from tb to coolant housing. installed map sensor to vacume line port on back of intake.

progress got interupted by a guy wanting to buy my 88 acura legend v6 5spd. btw it is still for sale. first to bring me 400 dollars.(some one here needs it.)lol  N-e- ways, hope to get back on the civic tomorrow night. still need to finish shifter stuff, axles, exhaust and rad, and battery. I did manage to acquire a intake tube for a eclipse i am going to  modify and use as a short ram intake for now. Sorry for no pics, phone is currently dead.
Sancho

Thanks so much for that link. I've been using mine for like two years with a worn out joint! I'm stoked to get this replaced Cool

Sancho wrote:

no problem man. i see that it is offset so i want to make sure i put it on correctly before i install the bitch pin in it. lol
new-mex-4dr

Good looking engine bay man... (good luck)
stormdrop

more updates!!!!!!

got everything together, bought me a battery, turned the key, turns over but no start. im not getting the main relay "click" on the "on" postion on the key, no click for fuel pump prime. i remembered to ground the wires to the thermo housing, but i was tired and hungry and so i left.

i did however sell my legend, so that was a plus. got some extra coin in my pocket.  Very Happy
4dred6

Hope you can get it to run
stormdrop

it ran before with this harness and a b16 set up so it has to be something i missed. im going to try and get out there today before work tonight, but it is cold and rainy.
stormdrop

didnt make it out before work last, but had my uncle look. where the guy i got it from cut a hole in the metal going to the fender well(for his version of a wire tuck)there is a round connector for the main harness and he said a orange wire had pulled apart. i would go over to the garage (which is at my uncles) and splice the wire together and try agian but it is 33degress and snowing. WTF mother nature, your drunk, get sober and realize this is spring now not winter.
89 LX SOHC ZC

Sounds like you're making good progress I hope the pulled wire fixes your problem and fires when you get to it.
stormdrop

thanks man, me too. we just had some snow and icy conditions here last 2 days. got to love kentucky weather NOT. LOL unless it warms up today (its 38 right now) it will have to be another day. ill post pics of the wire when i get to the garage. Ill keep you guys posted.
stormdrop

crap, forgot to snap a pic of the wire, but i connected it, still no click. so i swapped out main relays, YAY. my beast starts, still got a check engine light, but it will run. time to get short work week over with so i can elbows deep in this b!tch this weekend.
4dred6

Nice to hear you got her running  Very Happy
stormdrop

it has been a year waiting. i got this thing last march and drove it for 4 days.

things to still do

trouble shoot CEL, install head lights, front bumper, tighten all front suspension, bleed brakes, do a garage style alignment till i can get it to a alignment shop.
89 LX SOHC ZC

Glad to hear she's up and running.
stormdrop

UPDATES, UPDATES, UPDATES, yo i got you guys some updates. lol

so i got a pic of that broken wire. Anyone know what it is?
i connected it and nothing changed.
the orange one with the blue/black (cant tell) strip

finishing topping off fluids.

i came up with a short ram intake system out of a free intake pipe and filter from an eclipse. just have to do some cutting

it will look something like this, till i get an Odyssey slim battery and put it beside the frame rail.

installed the headlights, looking more like a complete car with every piece.

so originally i had the map and fps, "t"ed off of the vacum port on the back of the manifold. it was running rough so i thought i would take a peek at the manifold on my uncles teg.
this one here with my jeep hanging out in the background

i observed his fps ran off the back port and the map ran off the offset port on the tb. so i moved my map to the offset port on tb, and got it run a tad smoother. still rough, still throwing code 1 and 3 while running. im getting closer.

while the key in "on" but not running, CEL stays on and ecu throws code 1 no matter how many times i pull the hazard fuse or disconnect the battery. So finding the electrical gremlin is going to be a PITA. All sensors worked fine before with no CEL, but that was a year ago. I guess things can go wrong just sitting.

other things still to do,

fab battery hold down
finish cutting intake tube
install front swaybar links
tighten all front suspension bolts
do a garage alignment
corner lights
bumper
paint and install energy suspension bushings in crx si rear control arms/ then install on car

hoping to go to the salvage yard friday and score a main relay(so i can give my borrowed one  back). I got a busy weekend keeping me out of the garage. friday night i have a bachelor party to attend, saturday is the gf's birthday party, then sleep all day sunday to go back to work sunday night.
EF Sedan Enthusiast

Good stuff man.  Always good to see all of the hard work paying off (in the form of putting it back together).
stormdrop

no salvage yard today  Crying or Very sad it is raining. i did manage to snag a friends map off of his 89 crx. so ill give that a try when i make it back to the garage and see if that fix's anything.
89 LX SOHC ZC

Lookin good dude I hope you find your problem.
stormdrop

alright, so i went an messed with the civic today. i took off my grounds that go to the thermo housing and cleaned them. then took the ground strap from my trans to frame rail and cleaned that ground up. installed a new 02 sensor and plugged in a new map sensor. i still get  a solid CEL when car is not running. the ecu gives one long blink. when car is running, it still has one long blink, and then 3 blinks. Im so confused. everything worked when i pulled the last engine out. same engine, same senors, now doesnt work. im getting frustrated.
FlatTireRacer

1 blink=O2 sensor
3 blinks=map sensor
code 13=Atmospheric pressure sensor
stormdrop

not really progress, but new page new picture. this is how it sat as of last monday 4/1

stormdrop

been busy at work. did manage to get some troubleshooting time in though. I swapped out my ecu for my uncles pr4 and still solid cell with car off, so i have a wire gremlin. (i very much dislike wiring).
stormdrop

so after a whole day, im still no further on my wire problem. I did get my brake master cylinder bolted up and plummed, front suspension bolts snugged up, and found that my heater core is leaking. I painted my intake tube, and installed  the front bumper. It is looking better, but not running better. Some one needs to come out here and fix my wiring gremlin. Ill buy you dinner. lol

ah lookin better

not sure what happened. This photo was not blurry when i downloaded it, but tada, first time hood has been shut in almost 5 months

had to slap a wheel on it, cause i was forgetting what this thing looked like. Cant really read it, but note on windshield says " Make Me Run Please."

I bought another honda well acura yesterday. Got this thing for a steal (sort of)

friend of mine bought this 92 teg gs with a b16a swap about a year ago for 3k. he works at a body shop, so he repainted it about 3 or 4 months ago. well last wednesday we had some bad rains and he drove thru a deep patch of water and sucked some up in the engine(this car has a cold air intake that runs to the front of the right side wheel, with no fender liner). and hydro locked the engine. took spark plugs out, and still will not turn over. I got extra pistons and rods for b16s so hopefully it it just a bent rod of 2. only gave 700 bucks for it.
4dred6

Not bad for 700
stormdrop

i didnt think so. the front is WAY to low. they are neuspeed springs that where cut. wtf. i have a set of stock da spring to throw on it for now. it has a set of almost brand new bfg's on it also.  This car will more than likely get to running condition and sold for some profit... unless the a/c works, then it will be the replacement for the gf's ford focus (the brokus).
HondaJunkie

Nice to see some progress being made and good pickup on the DA those cars are so overlooked it was one of Hondas best chassis imo.

agreed. i think they look fantastic. my uncle was supper stoked for me since he has one (the green one lurking in a picture somewhere in this thread.) He wants me to pull the engine out of the ef and drop it in there, but i cant make myself do that. i worked to hard just to pull the new heart out of it. lol
89CivicSi

very nice, and the sedan is a dirty girl, atleast wipe her down it saddening Crying or Very sad
89 LX SOHC ZC

Nice pick up on the DA.
stormdrop

i know, i didnt even get to wash it the whole 4 days i drove it before it messed up. If i can get my mom's 2004 325i done fairly quickly this weekend, ill bleed the brakes, and at least pull it outside, wash it and take some pics. i have to change valve cover gasket, intake boots, new headlight lens's, and a new brake wear sensor (i broke it last week changing the brakes). Germans have a weird way of designing suspension. Im going to very much dislike it when i have to change bushings and what not on her car.
stormdrop

finally got to work on the civic today. thinking maybe i had the iacv and ait sensor plugs mixed up, swapped them, started the car and it got mad. So i shut it off, and swapped back.

took some short videos with my phone on what the ecu light does. first one is with car off, key on "on" position, CEL is on.

this is with the car running. CEL still on

since i do have a chipped pm6, and i have a friend who has labtop set up for krome?(think thats the right spelling) and neptune, that is going to take my  and put a new b16 map for 1 o2 sensor and disable the ait and see what happens, if that does not work, time to custom order a harness. im tired of chasing someone elses shotty work.

some other info on the day, i finally got the car to idle somewhat on its own, and let it get to operation temp, the warmer it got, the lower RPM i tried to go, by the time it shut off, it was attempting to idle at 3-400 rpm. WTF Evil or Very Mad
stormdrop

dropped off the ecu sunday night, hopefully tomorrow if i get done with the gf's brokus(the focus), ill run by his house and pick it up. i hope this can get me going for a while, it has been a year not on the road, i will not let this thing defeat me.  Twisted Evil

plus i need it done and running cause the jeep needs her new parts installed too.  Very Happy
4dred6

I hope you can get it to work buddy
stormdrop

went to my friends house to pick up my ecu, come to find out 2 of the pins were badly bent, he used a moates reader/burner and was able to pull my tune off. it had a 4000rpm vtec window and no rev limiter. so he pulled it off and gave me an extra chip he had and put a stock p30 tune on it. since a p30 is an obd1 ecu, we are not sure if it will work in my obd0 pm6 ecu. all this is getting done for free, so nothing wrong with trial and error. ill head out to my uncles tomorrow (thats where the garage is located i work in) before work and see. I would do it tonight, but im going to go see fast and furious 6. hope it doesn't disappoint me. <the movie i mean
stormdrop

i havent made it out to my uncles house yet to try the ecu, but my uncle did send me a pic of one of his hd wheels on my car just for funnzies.

i dont like them on my car, but i think they look good on his da teg.
4dred6

i finally got to put my ecu back in after the new chip/burn. plugged it in, turned key forward, solid led on ecu. tried to start the car. when it did fire over it ramped the revs from 300-1200, with zero throttle response, and solid led on ecu. So trial and error, dont use a p30 tune on a chipped pm6. it dont work. hopefully next weekend my buddy can come out with his laptop and mess with it and see whats up.

on another note, i did get my turn signals,  side markers, and intake installed. I figured out a battery hold down, got to run to hardware store this week.

got tired of my stickers laying in the seat, so i put some of them to good use.

yay, i love amber corners. now im on the hunt for amber turn signal lens', if i cant find them, ill try my hand at tinting them

its looking like a car again

i know, i get excited more and more each time i mess with it (other than the ecu part). im going to paint the filler panel with the trim coat so it matches the bumper, it was gloss black when i got the car, but i dont like the way it looks glossy.

when i can get this thing to run for more than 30 seconds ill move it forward, bleed the brakes and pull it out and wash the dang thing. lol

so i been taking pictures of some of the plugs on  my harness and this is what i have come up with, the distributor main plug has been cut and spliced in with a obd2a unit, the alt plug and alt that was on the car is a obd2a unit also (has square plug, not round), has obd2 injectors and plugs, and obd1 thermo housing and fan switch plug-in, and no where to be found is the original plug in for a injector resistor box.

so this is my thoughts on this, please fella's give me advice for steering me in the right direction to fix my wiring

source another obd0 dpfi harness and my own mpfi+vtec conversion, or try and find a ex sedan or crx si harness(which seems unlikely.)

I will need to source a new dizzy with correct plugs.

I have a obd0 alt(came with motor i ordered) so id swap that out.

oh and have i said yet in this thread I VERY MUCH DISLIKE WIRING!!!!!!!!!

where i live in west ky, there are only 4 salvage yards in a 40 mile radius, 1 in mayfield (11 miles from me), 1 in benton (15ish mile from me), and 2 in paducah (35 miles from me). none of these have any hondas older than a 97. 1 in paducah has 2 dc ls tegs (one 97 other 9Cool that are auto.

i tried craigslist for my region, no luck, and no harness' on ebay that i found.  Sad  i will not give up.

if any of you guys are salvage yard hunting and come across a good harness, i have a pay pal account.  Smile im ready to get my beast on the road.

i have one more option here to get a harness local, but i have to wait till he gets back from vacation. he has owned 14 or 15 ef's in his time, so he might have a harness hanging in his garage.(so i been told) Very Happy

damn 14 EFs. ive had like 7 only. 3 CRXs 1 HB and 3 Sedans
stormdrop

well bad news, brad had no ef harness', just some ek ones. Sad  so the hunt still continues, as i said guys i need this car going.

I'm goin to parts yard tomorrow, I'll check an see if I can find an un-molested engine harness for u

my old roomate that has the turbo z6 in a std crx and he had some guy on dso make him a harness. im not sure if he just done a dpfi to mpfi or made a obd1 harness, cause i know he is running a chipped p28. all i know dude built it for 150, so i just might holler at this dude and get one worked up. Also i have debated on doing a obd1 conversion stuff since mc (my old roomate) has a spare chipped p28 that i can probably buy/borrow off him.

i just want this damn thing to run, correctly.  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad
