4g4d ED3 face-lift 1990 from The Netherlands!! 25-LGJ-3

People, finally created a project log Very Happy
Now you guys can watch my sedan becoming nicer and nicer!

I am the owner since 10-02-2012 and bought the sedan from a guy who didn't treat it like it should be treat'n..
The man never washed the car and didn't suspend the car to put it in a storage in the winter times.

It's a shame to leave these sedans in the winter times Crying or Very sad

Here some exterior pix just a couple of days before i bought the car:
I bought the car without the mudguards and the 15" steel wheels,
(they were taken off..Sad) the car was on the 13" OEM steel wheels

mr.$ed@n$ki

When the sedan was imported from Germany to The Netherlands in April 2010 (before i've got him),
only a little 2cm rust spot was on the car at the right wheel arches,

The next photo's complain everything about never wash it,
and not suspending the car to put for a sleep inna garage in the winter times.....

2 years later....

The left side wasn't that bad but already start rusting..

The right sill was fuck-up.. Shocked

The right sill was rotting like hell Evil or Very Mad,
just pressed easily with one finger through the sheet metal..
So the first thing that had to be done with my sedan,
was the recovery/paint job for the wheel arches and sills.

Here the results after the paintjob..

Also the complete bottum is sprayed with tectyl/tar,
man mi just love this new fresh paint! Very Happy

So this was the recovery treatment, soon i will update and post pix of lowering the sedan, it's already dropped more then before! Cool

When i bought my sedan it had 4cm lowering springs on it.
In the front koni shocks, in the rear OEM shocks on 15" steal rims with 185/55 tires.

4cm springs:

It wasn't low enough so i tried these 6cm springs on 15" EK4 vti rims - 6J ET45 with 195/50 tires:

Again wasn't it low enough so i bought a megan racing coilover set on 15" enkei ignis rims - 5J ET45 with 185/55 tires:

Still rollin on this suspension, pretty stiff.
No problem with thresholds and bumps when i'm driving with one passenger.
mr.$ed@n$ki

I found at the local yard a OEM Honda bumper lip of a black silverstone hatch.
Almost fits perfectly, didn't know that even the front bumpers are different of the hatch and sedan..

Better then a Golf 3 lip isn't it haha Razz

mr.$ed@n$ki

Some goody's i've put on..

This RVS muffler is original for a hatchback:

We have extended this RVS muffler for my sedan:

Soon i will change it to a clean double pipe exhaust.
4dred6

Nice. Awesome updates. Third set up of wheels and springs is the best imo.
Arkan

if you ever consider to sell your exhaust pls contact me first Very Happy

Yeah it looks more luxery Cool and fits perfectly.
OEM wheel got 3 spokes, this one got 4.
OEM wheel of a 88-89 model in Holland got 2 spokes.
4dred6

here in the US came in 2,3, and 4 spokes not sure on the the 2 but ef hatch std and dx did came with 2 spokes. and i know for sure that sedan came in 3 and 4 spokes.

The steering wheels could be different in the US unjust to the wheels in Europe, same as many other parts..
Like we we got rear foglights, US sedans don't.
Never saw a sedan in Holland with OEM 4 spokes wheel.
I can see a couple differents between my 4 spokes accord coupe wheel and the 4 spokes wheel from EfSedanDX.
The Honda logo is flat and mat and mine is bunchy and shiney, also the 4 spokes look a bit flatter..

Here some pics of my OEM EDM wheels:
(left 90-91 model and right 88-89 model)

Also got 2 racing wheels with Honda horn caps:

Almost 2 years ago i posted my last post..
First i had some things in life to take care with,
so didn't had time to update all my sedan upgrades.
I've bin working very hard on it and luckily maked a lot of pictures during this process.

Here some pics from that time, round my last posts:

Next updates will follow soon! Wink

The upgrades, let's start at the beginning..

A little bit earlier in this topic i told about some new rims.
I bought them brand new at a local store in my village.

Inter Action B9 15 inch ET38 6,5J:

I used the tires that were on the white Enkei's with enough tire profile,
the white rims needed a paint job.

mr.$ed@n$ki

My cat inna di trunk, just jumped in, geuss she feels comfortable in there until i start the engine.. Razz

Unfortunatly she got hit by a car couple of years ago.. R.I.P Snoozy

Luckily she gave offspring/posterity, named Joey:

Looks like my cats love my sedan too! Cool

EF Sedan Enthusiast

She looks just like my girl Silvia.  Sorry she's no longer here.
mr.$ed@n$ki

Hah okay that's funny, yeah but luckily Joey (her son) is still walking around Very Happy
mr.$ed@n$ki

The paint on the strip below the headlights, has become dull with the years,
so i tried to polish it with scratch remover but didn't worked out very positive,
i rub it to hard, the clear lacquer was gone.. woops! Shocked

Also there was a little dent in the strip so i decide to respray it. Wink

The putty filler:

The primerpaint:

The colorpaint (Asturias Gray):

mr.$ed@n$ki

The strip below the taillight has become dull so needed also a fresh paint.

So i removed the trunk hood and corner shields:

Asturias Gray* Cool

Next painting part updates will follow very soon, so stay tuned! Wink
~Sp33~

Is that scratch remover for glass or paint? It looks waaay to aggressive to be used on paint, you can see the dulled clear around the area that it's blasted through
Shocked  Shocked

Maybe try a light cutting compound next time?

Hopefully the paint turns out.

Yeah it's for paint and it's a very fine polish paste,
but i rub it to long and hard, on a area where was a dent.
it's wasn't a big problem after all cause i already wanted to paint the bumpers and stuff.   Smile
mr.$ed@n$ki

Here i removed the doorhandles:

Before:

After:

mr.$ed@n$ki

The side strips were also dull so i decide to sanding them light and spray them with only clear lacquer.

Here i removed the side strips:

Before:

After:

mr.$ed@n$ki

I bought a new OEM Honda rear bumper for 200,-
The bumper had already primer and clear lacquer on it.
The clear lacquer is for protection i suppose.

EF Sedan Enthusiast

Good stuff man!  I would love to secure one of those rear bumpers one of these days.
mr.$ed@n$ki

Thnx Jon, I still got the other black one in storage that was original on the sedan from factory.
mr.$ed@n$ki

Here i removed the front bumper:

Next pictures of the total spraying process will follow soon..
89 LX SOHC ZC

mr.$ed@n$ki

From the inside out, so first need to remove the inside door panels.
MrBoomPow

mr.$ed@n$ki

Next updates during the spraying process:

Front bumper sanded and tape sealed, ready for primer:

Primer layer, ready for paint:

mr.$ed@n$ki

Here i removed the original rear bumper:

The strip in the bumper is laying next to it, this strip got sprayed with clear lacquer:

I sprayed the white rear bumper side clamps black because they were a bit visible between:

mr.$ed@n$ki

New OEM Honda 90-91 rear bumper:

New OEM Honda rear bumper frame:

Sanded rear bumper (primer already on it from factory Very Happy )

Rear bumper tape sealed:

mr.$ed@n$ki

Both bumpers together in the spray cabine:

mr.$ed@n$ki

mr.$ed@n$ki

My white Enkei rims, original stock suzuki ignis wheels, were oxidated and definitely needed a treatment!

I grind/sand all these 4 rims by hand, man what a job..Shocked  Sad  Evil or Very Mad Never do it again! next time powdercoating
