For all of you guys who were hanging in there for me , i just want to say thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Now i have to
report to you as of Nov 20 2008 at 6:00pm it is now official MY 1991
Honda Civic Dx 4 door 1.5L with a jdm is now out of the machanic
Shop And i am driving it . I brought it home a while ago but it's around 7pm dark i will go tomorrow before i go to work and wash it off got a lot of bird stuff on it but the motor sounds good.I will be taking it easy for about two weeks to break it in. It's got 40,000.00
miles on it Now this sunday after church i will be taking photos of the car, and then you guys will be able to see .Step (1) is over
now take a breather and then move onto step two.Also ive got to find another mech. But again guys thank you thank you i feel so alive. Very Happy

well i drove it saturday,and sunday it ran ok but i am taking it slow
not going over 45mph i think i need a break in period. what do you think? then ive got to save up to get my front bumper fixed.But for now i will be thinking about rotors and brake pads. make sure i can always stop then get some wheels and tires.

ok drove it to Church today only went no higher than 45mph.
it did ok, im still watching my water level and looking for leaks, none
so far, just taking it easy.Got to get new weather stripping for my doors.the old weatherstrip is cracking bad and breaking up. Shocked

You are correct. . it was assembled in Japan, but meant for sale overseas. .

Sort of like my RSX-S. . it was completely assembled in Japan but meant for the US market. . Surprised

that's why i did not get the Black headlights with the HID's and random other JDM goodies. . Crying or Very sad

Thanks guys I really needed that, Now i am happy(why) Because
Now i have solved the problem (SP33) that i had of the car running
hot and having to add water every morning? Well i called Midas
and told them i wanted them to check my car for leaks got the car there and he checked my car found out the Mech forgot to tighten
the bottom hose to the radatior(man) Now its not running hot the fan comes on and cools it down, Also found a rim 14" for the right
rear now the car runs better.man i am happy Very Happy

What makes you think it's from Japan?

It appears your car has been raped. I can respect good bodykits. But your bumper has been molded to the fender, i guess that's why the bumper hasn't been replaced, because it's now an integral part of the cars design.

Also, edit one post and keep all your pictures in it.

well. i havent kept up with this thread at all. but by judging the pictures that you have posted up.....The car looks like it needs alot f work, just to get back to.. "normal" conditions. I hope you take care of the car, and do it justice. Smile

Well Reading the whole thread and seeing the Pix I think you have a pretty good base to work with there depending on which way your going to go body kit vs Stock.

So far I am loving the shaved body lines and door handles Twisted Evil

I cant wait to get my rear doors shaved and the body line removed!
I like the trunk but idk if you custom the lights Like the 5th gen Ex-Si Civics were the top of the light is clear and the bottom part is red that would make that trunk perfect

IMO If i had your car First thing to go is the wing!!! OMG the wing has to go lol next the body kit I'd take it back to stock look keeping the doors and trunk...

But you got a great mound of clay to work with! Cant wait to see what you sculpt out of it!

yes i bought it just like this.I needed a car to get me back to and from work, me i like body kits, the shave doors are great something
i will be adding is door popers, for rims i got two choice's (1) I.C.W
rb1'S OR i can go with buddy club wheels.Since there are so many
dents in it i am thinking about painting it Yellow/light blue I am going to buy some Light blue raceing seats from a member of the form. then i will be working on the body kit , my frount lip will be redone when the time comes. For now i am gona make sure i have
the motor mounts, starter Done right. Then once i know that is good, then i will work on the rest of the underbody Sway bar, struts, strut brace(upper and lower) rotors,brake pads control arms
cv, axles, even tho there not bad now(It corners real good at 45 mpg) The interior needs work as well you see the air vent missing
Got to go on E-bay and find one then a center console.Most junk yards around don't have too much as for as parts for honda civic
i think i will go with 15" rims to raise it off the ground want to stay

imo the bodykit ruins it.i used to love kits also but some cars just dont suit them.less is more i say.back to stock but low and smooth.

Ok guys ive now started :Project Kazar today i got new motor mounts install for $100.00 from the guys at Maxspeed here in Shreveport Louisiana. Got the steering wheel put on right, and the wire that controled the Ideling is also fixed. Now i can start Phase(1) Just paid for my air intake and air vent/clock so in about
7 days it should be here, then i move on to Struts, and control arms
Its gona take a while but i will get there. But i think ive found the shop that's for me Maxspeed it's a family owned business they do nice work i like the look of some of there cars. Look out here comes

Not yet, but ive got the motor, mounts, and we got the starter fixed
It's comming, the owner at Maxspeed asked me when i would be ready to get it painted, i told him after i get some other things done
to the car, want to make sure it's running good then start on the underbody then the outside is next to last, sound system will be the last thing i do. But for now it's (1) blower moter, then put in my Short ram air intake, and the air vent. Then project (1) is finished. And on to project (2)

Project update Sp ive got the ac vents/ console in today with a clock, i will try and take photo's sunday if i can. Also ive taken the mesh off the hood and put a piece of [Plex glass) there now you can see inside the hood, but what is better??? No rain will get on my Distrubutor(yes) And it seems to run better.

Putting plexi glass there practically invites people to look under your hood.

You want to make sure you never put anything valuable under there.

Yea it's stock, for now, but latter i will install the short air intake,
and for now until i go multi intake that will be it for the motor, except for silicone hoses blue (yes) and mabey blue wires, but ive got heat now, and a console and the vent /clock.

Ok guys the Short Ram Air intake is here UPS just droped it off, I think i will put it on this Saturday when i am off Get up early and go over to Maxspeed and get them to help me if i need it.So the next project will be that front bumper and Sway bar, then Powerslot Rotors And Hawk Pad for the front.I am looking at a DC strut bar along with the Megan Strut bar, i might go D.C lower and megan upper???Ok i went today and got the short ram air intake installed
and this evening on the way to work i will see what happens.

$ 330.00 For the front bumper this what i have to save up for then i will work on the seats, starting this month.Yes sp i did not have to pay anything for the short ram intake to be installed.I am now looking at a 4-2-1 header off of e-bay and i am going to be buying this soon its steel not ceramic. $57.00 with shipping included. Then
i will get more photos as soon as i purchase a few more iems and have them installed.

I think the problem is that his bumper is molded to the fenders, so he can't just swap the bumper for a new one.

Well i want to take it step by step and restoring this car to what i feel is good, The front bumper is fiberglass so the whole front has to go. We(maxspeed, and i ) are replacing it wih a polyurthane one
Friday i will be installing the new 4-2-1 header and then the next step will be racing seats, and rotors and pads. The big picture i want a good looking car, but with a little muscle also. one you can be proud of riding down the street in, and if you need a little power
you got that also, no turbo or nothing like that just a little power
to get me where i want, but looking good also.

Guys got the header installed yesterday, Maxspeed installed the headers, we had to go to the muffler shop, to get it welded because the former owner cut the convertor off.BUT now it's running Quitely, before i could not hear myself while driving but now i can. And the low end torque i got up to 70 without even pushing my car a lot is seem as the gears are shifting better, the
automatic transmission is not working that hard to get up to speed
Got to pick up some drum sticks for tomorrow at church so i will get another chance to see what is going on.But it's running great.
I was told by my Mech that i did not need the strut bar, so for now
we will put this on hold. But next is getting the racing seats, and then the front bumper, I dont know what type, Maxspeed is going to order since he's the body man and he knows what will fit on my car. well between getting the bumper and seats i will be buying
Powerslot Rotors I looked at Bremo but they cost a little more than i
want to pay for now.I think the wing is going to help with the increase in torque as i get speed a little faster.

I was being sarcastic, the wing is pointless. Even if it was designed in a way (unlike most of those wings) that didn't just cause drag, and actually created down force, it wouldn't until maybe 110-130mph.

If anything the added weight on your trunk lid, and aerodynamic interference would actually make your car slower.

O my.. those wernt the picture's I was expecting... none the less ive read your thread and like you dedication (spelling?) with your car. However the body kit and big wing age for the most part has come and past. Im not knocking your car but here is what Id suggest... as far as the body... return it to stock... body kits and wings text to draw unwanted attention plus in most peoples mind it looks better. Also body kits arnt super cheap or durable so there is a good chance that if you replace your front bumper with another its prob going to get messed up again... then your back where you started... Also if it were my car Id return the the car to stock and id deff lose the wing... rear lights and muffler.. One last thing the colors your planning on painting it you may want to think over... the car has a good chance of looking better if its one soild color... also im sure it would be cheaper..

Mods you might consider -
duel to multi point conv
mini me swap
auto to 5-speed swap

all things that will give your car alittle more pep in its step. Things you should talk over with your shop.

yea, i was gong to go from DPFI TO MPFI, right now i got my eye on a mpfi, but i am just watching it as of now,got to get other things done first, then i will go back to the mpfi.

update, got better rear tires, still 14's but for now it's even in the rear, that was my problem, also i got my sway bar on, the next project, yes i am going to put a fiberglass front bumper on, hopefully by the end of April, or 1st part of may, then its rotors and

Naw that hummer has a good pull i remember when i was active duty overseas(82nd airborne) I drove a hummer that pulled a tank
up the side of a mountain., if the civilian verson has half the trany
the military one has it's gona pull.

I will be taking photo's of each stage of restoring (Kazar) we have already desided to get rid of all the Bondo on the car, the wing is going(but going to be replaced by a better one). when we finish it's going to be great.

its an off orange, i think i will go back with this color, and add some
orange and black racing seats, by the end of April i should have the front bumper replaced with another body kit front bumper, i love the look of body kits., Got my camera so photo's are comming soon.

As of today i am a proud owner of a set of rims, 19" Got them from
the shop, i was not expecting this, but they only cost me $200.00
for rims and kumo directional tires.SO next step is front bumper, then racing seats, and paint job.
